Re: What's the most expensive item you have registered for?

  • I had a video camera listed, but I felt guilty afterwards and took it off. It seems like too much to ask for a wedding gift and I'd probably feel uncomfortable that someone spent that much on us.

On the other hand, what's started to happen is that people are buying us multiple items - one family sent us four separate gifts!

  • My top 3 expensive items:

BBQ Grill  $99, plus the side heater thing (sold separately) $49

    Double-sided Belgian waffle iron - $99

    Big Deep Fryer - $99

After that, I think the bedding for $59 is the most expensive.  Our least expensive item is $5 or $6 I think.

We have lived together for a couple years, so we just wanted to upgrade some stuff.  He does not know I put the grill on the registry, but he hinted that he wants a new one to replace his "redneck" grill - he busted a wheel off of it with the lawnmower, so it is propped up on one side with a piece of brick.

  • I actually was worried I had things that were too expensive, but looking back my priciest items are a pots set and a food processor that are both $200.

  • We have a few pricier things on our registry - new coffee maker (around $200), toaster (around $150) and the knife set I like (around $350).

We have a range of items on our registry, but actually need to go add more, as FI's mom bought a lot of stuff at Christmas for Christmas gifts lol.

  •  I don't expect to get it, but just in case someone was feeling generous.... A domed cake plate at Tiffany for $490. I love it. I also wanted $500 Herend place settings but restrained myself and went with Lauren Mandarin. Everything else is pretty well distributed between $2 and $200.

  • I, too, don't expect we'll get this....but we are going to register at REI for an Inflatable Stand Up Paddleboard.  It runs just about $1150.

Who knows...we have a large group of outdoorsy, active friends and they may decide to go in on it together.  If not...we are planning on buying one (or two) anyways.  : )
