Just chatty... Topic: wedding day jewelry

So I was taking some Knottie advise, and searching for wedding bands on eBay. I didnt find one, unfortunatly. however, I bid on a few peices of jewelry for the BIG day.... I just got the earrings in today.... LOVE THEM!
I was so nervous, buying jewelry on eBay, but so far so good. I'm really enjoying the expereince. FI is getting in on the action... he hates to see the pop-up notification on my iPhone that says I've been out-bid. HAHA!

Very pretty. I think I am going for the same look - wearing my great grand mothers pearl choker (every girl since her has ;P) and some longer drop earrings. My statement jewelry will actually be onthe base of my bouquet. Its this emerald, pearl and diamond broach that my nana willed me as her "I want to be there on your wedding day" wish. I nearly cried when I saw her msg.

Those are very pretty! Congrats on winning the bid. I have to stop myself from going on sites like etsy and ebay now. If I don't need it I refuse to go "window shopping"

    *tear* that is so awesome!

My Grandmother, who is going through cancer treatment, just gave me SO MUCH stuff from her house. She told me to put it on eBay, and the $$$ I earn from selling it, I can put towards my wedding. She is so afraid she wont be there on the big day.... But I know she will! she has to!

Mine died a yr or so ago after a drunk driver t-boned her and her 3 friends coming home from the symphony. A couple weeks earlier I mentioned that Albert and I were talking about rings. Apparently, knowing she didn't have an eternity to live, she went and changed the will a few days before her death. We are doing our table numbers with the wedding photos of our grand and great-grandparents as none of them are able to be with us on our day. We figure adding them in spirit will make up for the lost hugs.

    That is SOOOO sweet!
I often get caught up in my own situation, I forget to think of how lucky I am at this moment. I'm so sorry for your loss, but I think you have come up with a great way to incorporate them into your big day.
My Grandmother tells me "I'll always be here" In spirit of course. Its true...

My grandmother is so casual, and simple... I don't even think she owns a strand of pearls. She piddles around in a mu-mu... the fancy kind with cruel work along the collar, but a mu-mu.
My family = REAL back woods. HAHA. It makes for great stories!

This is just the most amazingly sweet and beautiful way to incorporate them into your wedding! I only have my mother's mom who even then only may be able to attend the wedding, since she's in fragile condition and lives in Florida, so I don't know if she will make it out to Texas. But I'm following the tradition and plan on wearing her pearls for the wedding!

And Beth, you're jewelry set is gorgeous. I love the double strands and the flower detail above the pearls. Congrats on your e-bay find!
