Update on dress problem

So, I just talked to Alfred Angelo about my mis-sized BM dress for one of my girls (we were both sized as a 6 and it won't zip on either of us)... they said to take it to a seamstress first, and see if it can be let out, and then "we can talk with the store manager to see what our options are."  I am a little irked that they wouldn't tell me any options, when it's obviously not my fault, it's theirs!!

And now, I am freaking out even more, because my dress, which is also from AA, is a 6, and not only has it not arrived yet, and they said it should have by now, but I'm afraid it won't fit either!

I AM SO STRESSED RIGHT NOW!!!!

did either of them ever try that size on at the store? you are making me nervous now!!! i ordered my dresses from there (mine and 2 bridesmaids - i hope we don't have these issues!)

Where you both measured for size in the store by one of the associates? And try on dresses in those sizes to make sure they fit correctly before ordering them?

If you ordered those sizes based on measurements that they took off of you and your bridesmaid, then I would be upset as well.

Bridesmaid dresses and wedding dresses tend to run smaller than regular clothes and you usually have to go up in your size when you order dresses.

How much longer do you have until the big day?

I would tell them that you WILL NOT talk to the seamstress because if she does anything then the responsiblity will be off of them to take care of it. At that point they can say the seamstress did something to the dresses. I wouldn't even take the dress home if you haven't yet. Also, Demand that they tell you were your dress is. If they gave you date and then they should be able to tell you what the hold up is at least.
I had this problem with them as well and I can get stern. I told them we paid too much for these dress and they ordered the wrong size. It was their responisbilty to fix it. They ended up ordering another dress, but I still had to get alterations because I have a weird body shape for their dresses.

    Hope it works out!

Thanks everyone.  I was measured in that store, but my BM was not... if it was just her, I might think that it was a measurement problem... but since it doesn't fit me either, and we were measured to be the same size, I think it's mis sized.  I will take it back up there asap and make them do something about it!!  To make things more complicated, my BM is two hours away, and the dress is also two hours away a different direction, in my hometown, at her parents house!  I think I will pick it up from there this weekend, but trying to get both her and the dress to Dallas to resolve the issue at the store is scary.

If your profile bio is correct, you have until November? I would say you have plenty of time to resolve the issue, no matter how it works out.

    Good luck!

Why don't you call the store and ask to speak with a manager about your options?  You may be able to resolve some of your stress by speaking with someone over the phone to find out what the next step is.

That being said, BM dresses are rarely made to fit perfectly and almost always have to be altered in some way.  If they order the next size up, you may have to take it to a seamstress anyway?

Did you order from the one in Arlington? My BM was measured at a size 8 and I knew good and well she was no size 8. I was expecting a size 12. She was excited about being an 8 so I didn't say anything to her. She decided to order one size bigger b/c the 8's didn't look good on, got a 10 and it was still to small. Try talking to the manager, making a big fuss, and calling the corporate office if you need to. I still have BM dresses to order from there, I'm going to make sure I get a copy of the sizing paper and have them initial they measured and suggested a certain size.
