What kind of old buildings are you looking for?

Around the White Rock Lake area is good. There's the Filter Building and the Cultural Bath house.

Also, there's a place in McKinney that is really cool but they charge you to take pictures. And I'm totally spacing out on the name.

Downtown Dallas might also be good-just drive around. I think the best pictures are the ones where they're not planned at a particular place. It's the ones that you drive or walk by and go, "oh, that looks really cool".

Hmm your photographer should really know of some places.

I think SMU is really nice and there are def. plenty of trees there and the buildings are very nice but older. I know a fellow Knottie did her engagements there.

Old Red is a great older building. There is also Deep Ellum, not as many trees but def. older buildings.

The Canals in Los Colinas have an oder Europen feel, not sure about trees though. Turtle Creek has the a ton of trees but not so much older buildings.

I also agree that White Rock is a great place. I took my bridals there.

You might be able to do a couple of these locations, one with trees and one with older buildings.

    I hope this helps

I agree with the PP. We took ours in Turtle Creek (pics in my planning bio) and Lee Park--where Arlington Hall is which is like an old plantation style house. They charge you to take pictures inside though. There is also a neat wrought iron gazebo there--but there was a wedding going on during our shoot so we didn't get to use it. :('

We did some family photos in a park in Oak Cliff, at Colorado and Zang, called Lake Cliff Park. There are these cool stone pavilions and stuff that turned out really cool in our pictures, plus the typical park layout, along with a pretty lake. Good luck!

I think she might be referring to the Cotton Mill in McKinney. Here is the link: http://mckinneycottonmill.com/

If I remember correctly, I heard they charge around $50... but I have never checked myself.

Not sure how far north you're willing to go, but we shot family photos behind Babe's Chicken in downtown Frisco yesterday. They have some old train cars.. an engine and a caboose.. as well as some really cool walls/doors back there. And, it's free. :)

There's a really pretty field we shot at across the street as a second location.

Our photographer said it was a pretty popular place for photos. There were actually 2 other groups taking pictures at the same time.

Addison Circle also has trees (Bosque Park) and buildings. There's also victorian buildings off of Arapaho that might look pretty in pictures.
