Too Fast Thank Yous?

Do you think it is possible to send thank you notes too quickly? I've been writing and sending them the same day or day after I get the gift and I've had a few people comment on it...I hope it's a good thing!

That's what I did.  All the etiquette books/articles I read said that was the thing to do.  And as someone who just bought a wedding gift for a friend (whom I see at least once a week at work), I have to admit I'm a little puzzled at not having received one yet.  It leaves me wondering whether the gift arrived.  I think sending them that quickly is good at least for the purposes of acknowledging receipt of the gift.

The weird thing is I like writing them. It gives me some weird sort of satisfaction. Same with sending out invites.

I'm doing the same.  I know there will be a stack to write later after the wedding (for gifts at the wedding) so I don't want to put off the ones right now I can get out of the way

I think they're just commenting on your quickness.  I sent all mine out as soon as I could too.

Marissa, the day after the wedding (I kid you not) I had written out over 3/4 of the thank you cards (the other fourth was for Steve to write).  I had them sent out by the time we got back from our honeymoon (a week later).  I think what you're doing is awesome!

I agree - what you are doing is awesome!  I arranged a large group to purchase most of a gal's registry and not one of us got a thank you note.  Who the heck has a wedding and doesn't send thank you notes?  I am still appalled!

Keep it up! My MIL and her friends still think I'm a saint or some kind of Thank You Note princess bc I got mine out quickly as well. It never hurts  to do it early. And I liked writing them too.

Marissa - (this is off subject) I looked at your profile and saw the apothecary jars with the groom and bride dress ups... what are those for?? They're adorable!

They're part of the candy bar--they come with picture frames that say "Brides Favorite" and "Grooms Favorite"--I actually got them from another Knottie last summer
