T & P's please!!!

i don't usually like to post personal medical stuff, but we need as many prayers as we can get right now!!! actually my mom does.

i'll make a long story short. she had minor back surgery about 6 months ago, major back surgery in june (where they cut her open from butt to shoulder). she is not recovering as she should and is in major pain and can barely get around. she lives on her own and has friends stop by now and agin to help her prepare food or clean her up. she is getting really depressed and beat down by the pain and lack of recovery.
THEN this morning she woke up and couldn't see out of one eye. years back she had had a cornea transplanet. actually in both eyes at different times. her friend rushed her to her eye doctor and he said her body was rejecting the cornea. to make matters worse she can't work and has no insurance and is too young for medicare. she is 64 1/2 years old!!! they are trying to get her disability, but haven't finished the paper work yet. they are working on it.
please keep her in your thoughts and prayers that she might find the will to get through this time and start to heal.

    Thoughts and prayers your way...
Disclaimer: Please excuse the above comment. I'm probably freaking out because there is less than one month to go. Thank you.

I'll keep your mom in my thoughts and prayers.

And, I don't know if you know but, if your mom is approved for disability, they should give it to her retro from either when she filed or when she became disabled.  That's what they did for my dad.

i really hope so! she hasn't been able to work since the back thing started last year. and because she now has to use the public system for heath care (she lost her job and had just taken a new one right before the back problem happen, but it didn't provide insurance), it took 11 months from the time she needed surgery to the time they had the surgery!!!! which is probably why it was so bad.

Disability is pretty hard to get - and in my experience (not personally, but family) it's a rigorous process. You and your family are def in my thoughts and prayers.
