NWR: Going Shopping need opinions!

So my FMIL has asked me if I wanna go shopping with her on Friday and we get along great so I said sure! I was just thinking that since my mom and her have never really meet would it be ok to ask my FMIL if she would be ok with my mom coming along? I don't think we are going to do much we both just had the day off and she likes to do stuff together! What do you think would it be a bad idea for me to ask if my mom can come along?

I would not invite your mom to this outing. It would be nice for them to meet at some point like at a shower or dinner specifically for introducing the parents. I think this is a much better opportunity for you to bond with your FMIL. However good your intentions she may interpret them as insulting or hurtful.

I agree with pp. Enjoy your shopping trip with your FMIL.
When you are ready for the moms or parents to meet, you and fi should invite them to lunch or dinner.

On the other hand, if you already have a strong relationship with your FMIL, she shouldn't be offended if you mention inviting your mother.  Leave the decision to her and say nothing to your mom before you ask her.  Let her know that you don't care either way, that you just wanted her to get to know your mom, and thought this would be a good time.  It never hurts to ask, as long as you are not demanding it.

It doesn't matter anymore my mom has to make a birthday cake for my sisters first birthday party on Saturday!!
