Gift for Bride

My sister is getting married this summer and I am her maid of honor. Ive been trying to think of a really cute gift to give her at her bridal shower that isnt something from her registry. I was thinking something that went along with the something borrow, something blue...I just dont have anything of value you to let her borrow so I will have to purchase something. Do you guys have any cute ideas?

So, I THINK you're asking about buying her something new? Cuz the way you have it phrased it almost sounds like you're going to buy something for yourself that she can borrow =P

The only thing about that is that brides often want to choose their own jewelry and hair pieces, which are the most visible things that can be bought. Buying it and saying "this is your something new!" can put undue pressure on them to wear what their well-intentioned relative/friend bought. What's left is garters and panties =P

If that doesn't appeal, I would suggest finding something off the registry and personalizing it in some way, since that seems like what you're looking to do. For instance, buying her some kind of baking equipment and slipping a mix for scones made by you into the bowl. One of the coolest non-registry shower gifts I've ever seen was a cooler packed with all the plastic ware, paper plates, napkins, cups. etc. that one would need for a beach outing. You can def go outside the box, but remember that people make the registries for a reason; those are the things they really need/want.

so you could maybe find her a really cool, collectors sixpence? I have also heard penny in her shoe, not sure if that would be easier? 
And something blue, I have seen blue garters, or white ones that have blue crystals sewen onto them, if she is wanting to  wear a garter.

For my friend's shower, I bought a few towels from her registry but I also wanted to get her something kind of unique and different as well.
