Best place to find bridesmaids dresses

Where can I get the best deals on bridesmaids dresses?  I'm not crazy about buying off of the internet. I am looking for really reasonably priced dresses for my girls.

Your local might be the best place to ask this, since you'll get suggestions for local places, which is probably more helpful than what you'd find on the int'l board.  DB is pretty reasonable, but not knowing your BMs' price ranges, it's hard to offer any meaningful suggestion.

A word of warning from your friends at Cracked.com: Remember that text is going to be how you make your first impression over the internet; if every third word you type is misspelled, people will automatically assume that you're a moron.

The biggest question you could get answered is about what sizes your girls are.  If you have any plus-sized girls, you probably won't be able to do the local department store thing because the "missy" size dresses are not usually available with the same design in "plus" sizes.  BUT... sometimes they are.  You can look at Kohls, Macy's, Dillard's, JC Penney's, etc.  Cocktail dresses can be great for BM's, and with prom season coming up, you might find some great cocktail dresses that would be at a good price as well.

White House Black Market is a really great store for finding dresses, and I also found some GREAT dresses at Camille La Vie at a big mall in Charlotte... I've also heard good things about Charlotte Russe.  Apparently Target has some dresses but I think they're pretty much online only, depending on the stores near you (My Target store has hardly ANY dresses).

Lots of suggestions... maybe you'll find something that works for you and your BM's!  Good luck!

You can let your girls pick their own dresses. Just give them a color/length and then they can find a dress within their budget that they love. kelly had some good suggestions on places and like brooke said, try posting this on your local board to get some local perspective.

I would suggest looking at places that aren't "bridal."  Go stroll through Macy's dressy department - I've seen some great looks for under $100.  Better yet, check out clearance on Target's web site.  I bought a little black dress there for $15 and it fit perfectly.

I think if you limit your search to bridal places, the best you'll see is about what David's prices are.  I will second the Camille la Vie above though, although if you're looking for a store they're also called Group USA often.

I just posted the same question on wedding party :)

So far...I have found David's Bridal and Alfred Angelo to be the most reasonable.

I looked and looked!  I ended up with Ann Taylor bridesmaid dresses.  The color I wanted was on sale and they ended up being about $80.

OP since you are from LA, they just opened a Priscilla of Boston out here. I am on the email list and there are always deals about 10-15% off. The dresses we looked at were under $200 before the sale (for floor length). Also we tried on dresses at Wilshire Bridal and they were willing to give a discount for multiple bridesmaids.

Ultimately we went with Alfred Angelo because we preferred the look of the dress, but it was not necessarily the cheapest.
