Flower Girl Question..

Does the FG typically wear a white dress, or a color to match the BM dresses, or to compliment or what? On some websites I see alot of white dresses. What do you girls think looks best? What did you or are you doing for your wedding?

It really depends on what you want her to wear. My dress was ivory and the BMs wore brown so I was torn. Initially I wanted her in brown, but we couldn't find anything so we went with ivory.

Also in case you don't already know, it's way cheaper to buy something that's not called a flower girl dress. We got my FG's dress at JCPenny for $30 just after Easter. So shop around and you can save yourself or your FG's parents lots of money by buying a generic dress at a department store.

Any colour would work fine, I reckon.  And yes, don't get a "flowergirl" dress.  Get a girls dress, for way cheaper.

Either is fine. I have seen a lot of colored FG dresses these days. Both of our FG's wore white dresses.

Whatever you want.  My FG wore white, but I wasn't opposed to her wearing pink either.  My BMs wore black but I didn't want her in black.

I agree on looking for dresses at different stores too.  My FG almost got her dress at Target when they had their Easter dresses out but the only one in her size had a big stain.  We did find a great one on clearance for $20 though at www.flowergirlprincess.com.

My 1st wedding the colors were navy blue and mauve.  The BMs wore navy and the FGs wore mauve.  I think either way is fine.

Personally, the 'mini bride' dresses kind of freak me out.

I'm not having a FG, but if I were, I'd probably have her wear a dress that isn't white- unless she REALLY wanted to.

Thanks ladies! Yeah, the "mini-bride" thing kinda freaks me out too. So now I'm leaning towards white with an apple or black sash, or something black and white, since my BM are wearing black dresses.

I have 2 FG.  Someone had given their parents a hand me down FG dress in white so that is what the younger one is wearing.  Then their mom went out a bought a white dress for the older one that with luck will still fit for her First Communion.

I agree that it's whatever you want.  Mine will be in white with a sash to match the BM.  It wouldn't hurt to talk to the FG and see if she has a picture in her head of what she'd like to wear.  Depending on her age she may have a clear image of being in white (and thus be kinda bummed if she's not) or alternatively she may want to be in purple or something.  You may not be able to give her exactly what she wants, depending on your colors and her choice, but it never hurts to ask
