Moms and Maids

Missing maids?

I started out with 5 people standing up for me. Now it looks like I'm having none. I'm pretty upset about not having anyone stand with me, but I dont want to ask someone else at the last minute. What would you do?

I wouldn't ask anyone.  No one wants to feel like second choice or like they're just a warm body filling a slot.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

I'm curious... what happened to your five bridesmaids? If they just can't make it for various reasons, then there's really nothing to be done about that. Don't replace anyone.

If something like that happened to me I would probably ask my mom. She'd already be in a position of honor and figuratively "standing with me,"  I'd make it literally because she'd be the only person who wouldn't really feel like a replacement. But that's just me and my relationship with my mom.

2 lost their jobs and one of those has to travel to get here. We considered buying their dresses but we couldn't afford to buy all of them. One's husband hates formal events and has decided they arent going. One has a sister that decided to have her wedding the same day. The last has dropped off the face of the earth and isn't responding to any attempts at communication. It really sucks that everything is happening this way.

Have you thought of maybe letting them where a dress they own, or atleast the one who isnt traveling to you atleast have one

I dont know if they own a dress. I talked to my FSIL and were gonna go out and see if we cant find a good cheap dress for her. Were trying to work something out just keep getting blocked.
