Mom

Is it expected of the mother of the bride to help her get dressed?

My mom is, but then she made the dress, so that might be different.

I don't think its expected.  Nothing should be expected.  I just think a lot of my moms like to do it.  My mom was in the room with me and so were my BMs so they all knid of helped.

I don't remember who helped pull me into my dress, honestly.  My mom was around, but there were several pairs of hands.  It wasn't a designated duty, more "Okay, time to do this now."
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

My dress didn't require help getting into.  My MOH zipped up my dress for me, but that's all I needed help with.

I definitely want my mom in the room with me and the BM's.  I don't know if I care if she is the one who literally helps me with the dress.  That would probably be a cute picture I guess.

The only thing my mother did was place my veil on me.

Nothing is expected here.  My SsIL helped me get dressed.  While I would have liked my mom in the room with me, she was getting over some sort of bug and avoided me the whole night to keep me from getting sick.

I was there, but so were her girls.  We all participated  Smile
My baby girl is a married woman...and now my baby girl HAS a baby girl. Time unfolds in such an amazing way. I've been blessed!

My mom and the bridal attendants helped me into my dress.  I feel like a little girl saying this, but I wanted my mommy (don't tease!) there!
