I have little day of outfits, I made monogrammed hangers for their dresses, but for their big gift I plan on shopping for it like a christmas or bday gift. I want to make sure I get something they would love not that's to personalized to my wedding.

I'm paying for the hair, half their make-up, mega-suite for us to all stay in and get ready in, lunch the day of, and the other gifts are under the DIY section of my Bio.

IMO, I don't think a gift to girls is getting their makeup or hair done. It benefits me with my wedding photos, not them. I am choosing pesonal gifts that truly have a meaning to our relationship/friendship. My budget was 75 each and I have 2. I chose jewelry for both.

Coming from someone who's been a bridesmaid SEVERAL times, I really enjoyed when the bride paid for my hair and makeup to be done... it was something fun that we could all do together.  I've received jewelry to wear for the wedding, a "bridesmaid" hoodie and stuff like that, but I never wore any of it past their wedding day.  I guess it depends on who your bridesmaids are and what you think they'd expect, but hair and makeup is a big expense and alot of bonding time for all of you!  Maybe get them something small and a little "thank you" card.

Maybe it is a cultural difference, but most african american women keep their hair done professionally on a regular basis, so weather attending a wedding as a guest or attendant, the hair would be done...professionally. When I said jewelry, my girls will get gold earrings, not "wedding day jewelry". I should have clarified that I think gifts should extend beyong the wedding day.

I bought my MOH a Coach wristlet.  We paid for her hair to be done but she did her make up herself.

I paid for hair/makeup, and jewelry, wraps and lunch for the wedding day.  As their gift, I got them monogrammed towel wraps to get ready in and the day before the wedding, took them for a spa day where we all got manis, pedis and massages and had lunch.

Most girls on the other boards say shop for them like you would if you were shopping for a birthday gift for each of them.

Only spend what you're comfortable spending. There's no set limit that you're "supposed" to spend.

Yeah, like Anna said--just get them a nice gift that is personal to them.  I only had 2 BMs (my sister and daughter).  The spa thing was their gift and yes it was alot but I had it budgeted from the beginning since I knew that was what I wanted to do.

I bought some items the same like photo albums and luggage tags, but each one of them I bought something personal. My sister (MOH) enjoys writing so I bought her a really nice journal. Another one enjoys to draw and plans on going to Art Institute of Dallas, so I bought her a personalized journal cover took that out and put in a sketch pad. For my cousin (who is no longer a bridesmaid) I planned on purchasing wine and a personal wine glass. In the jist of all this I found something that was personal to each of them.

Last summer, Zales had a huge freshwater pearl necklace sale for $25, so I got all of my bm one. I also bought them a white clutch (target.com for $5!), and I'm dressing up Old Navy flip flops with ribbon and pearls so they can dance in them at the reception
