Bridal Party Dresses

Hey lovely ladies,

So I am having a relatively formal summer wedding. It is somewhat casual because the guys will be wearing tailored suits. But my gown is ivory satin and it is a ballgown. I have found a dress that i love for the bridesmaids. It is the Dessy twist wrap dress. It is convertible and comes in my color. my only concern is that a jersey matte material screams really casual. what do you all think?

I have a convertible dress and LOVE it! I've worn it to a number of weddings and still get compliments on how awesome and versatile it is. I can't remember but I think someone else has them in a different (non jersey fabric) but really it's a great  because you can make it more or less dressy depending on the way you style it.

I think it's really cute, and can easily go from formal to informal.

Have they tried them on yet?  Honestly, I've pretty much only heard bad reviews of convertible dresses from anyone over an A-cup.  I wouldn't commit to any dress without seeing it on every one of the girls, especially a dress that provides no support or structure.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

Also take into account that unless ALL of your bridesmaids are rail thin- Knit really isn't the most flattering fabric.. it clings to everything, so if you have even one bridesmaid who is curvy she may not be comfortable in the dress.

All of my bridesmaids LOVED the look of this dress, and the minute I mentioned the fabric they all shot it down (which is what I expected they would do... 3 of the 4 are all less than a year post-baby).

The material will really clash with your dress as well. I just went out with a few bridesmaids last week to try on their dresses and I didn't realize what a difference it makes until our consultant put one of them in a satin dress and one of them in a chiffon dress and had them stand next to a taffeta wedding gown (which is what my gown is made of).... makes a HUGE HUGE difference.

Hi, i am also considering the convertible dress.  Has anyone found any affordable long ones?  The ones i've come across are between 150-300. I mean the fabric itself doesnt cost THAT much. Anyway, any help would be appreciated.  Thanks
