Need help with gift ideas for mother of the bride

My mom isn't your typical Mom, she has loads of jewelry but only wears a few pieces. She isn't in to Spas, or massage packages, and has a drawer full of gift certificates. My mom is paying for 90% of our wedding, and I would really like to get her something that is special, I was thinking a monogrammed handkerchief, and maybe a frame with a picture of us from the wedding day, but I want to do more. Any ideas? Our wallet isn't as big as it was before the wedding, so as much as I would love to do something extravagant, I can't afford it.

Well, I'm a 3 time MOB and would love a special heart-written note/card and a quiet lunch with my DD and new SIL.  Can't think of much that would be that.

MOB here...We don't want anything extravagant.  We want something from the heart.  Write a letter, with your own hands not a computer, and tell her why she is important to you.  She will read it over and over.  My daughter got us a digital picture frame and loaded it partially with photos she scanned from her growing up years and then we added wedding photos.  It makes me smile every time I walk by.

    Speak to her heart...
My baby girl is a married woman...and now my baby girl HAS a baby girl. Time unfolds in such an amazing way. I've been blessed!

Another MOB advocating for a heart felt letter to your mom. We help out because we really want to do it. We don't expect a valuable gift in return. I promise that if you write that letter, it will become one of your mom's favorite treasures.

I like the frame idea with a heartfelt note.

I found a vendor on etsy.com who makes charm bracelets, keychains, etc out of bottlecaps and puts your pictures on them. I had a bracelet made for my mom with my sisters wedding picture, my moms wedding picture, our engagement picture, her moms wedding picture and one bottlecap engraved with all of our wedding dates. I have not given it to her yet but I think she is going to love it, especially since her dad has passed away and it inncludes him.

    How crafty are you?

For my mom, I made her a scrapbook with pics of us, starting with her "bump".  The very last page, I left blank with a note saying that I would fill it with a pic of US at the wedding.

She cried.  I think it's the best gift I have ever given her.  You can't buy it anywhere and I personalized it as much as possible.  I went to Michael's and got a scrapbook that would look good in her house.  And then found different stickers and pages that I thought she would like.

If you don't want to do that, I agree with a really heart felt note.
