Moms and Maids

destination wedding

what does the mother of the groom wear to a destination wedding on the beach?  My son is getting married in Jamaica next winter.  Ideas anyone?

I would say any kind of dressy outfit that you feel comfortable in.  For my DW, the mom's wore tropical print dresses (not mumu's, nice ones).   You could ask the bride for her preferences, but that's not really necessary.

My mom and my sister's mother in law wore brightly colored short dresses to my sister's dw in Jamaica. Anything cool and comfortable is a good idea. I would ask the bride before wearing a pattern though. That was my sister's only request for the mom's and bridesmaids...no patterns that would stick out in pictures. Have fun and congrats!

My mom & FMIL are getting pretty, simple hawaiian print dresses in subdued colors. One is going the light green route and the other is doing a more cream color. My main goal was for them to be comfortable since it's going to be very warm! No heavy formal dresses from DB.

Summery, breezy, comfortable would be my answer.  I would also find a coordinating wrap/shawl/light jacket.  I tend towards hot flash followed by chills  :)  Low heels or wedges are good for sandy beaches.
My baby girl is a married woman...and now my baby girl HAS a baby girl. Time unfolds in such an amazing way. I've been blessed!
