Moms and Maids

Need advice on bridesmaids dresses - colors and seasons!?

So I'm totally not a pastel girl, but my fiance and I are having a spring wedding because it's what works best for our situation. My sister (and MOH) and I went to look at David's Bridal the other day and found this color dress called Sangria, a darker pinkish/reddish color, that I really liked. Is it okay for your maids where a fall color to a spring wedding, then "spring it up" with accent colors and spring flowers? I also LOVE black and white, but am unsure if black maids' dresses are too morbid for spring. Everyone I asked said they think black and white is classy. I'm not sure and would love to hear what you have to say. Any similar situations? Should I just do what I want!? Thanks ladies.

That sangria color is beautiful! It will be perfect for spring especially with all your sopring flowers and accessories.

Colours don't need to "belong" to a certain season, don't worry about that too much.

Have your BMs try on the colour to make sure it looks nice on them. Some colours don't flatter all skintones.

I went with my fave colors, not the season.

I will probably be wearing a DB Sangria (that was the front running color last I heard) at my bff wedding on May 1st.

Yup, I went with my favorite colors since I was a kid. Didn't worry about the season or what was popular at the present time.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I really appreciate it and it's helping to make my decision a lot easier. I've also been checking out dresses at WHBM because I would love it if my maids would be able to wear their dresses again. That's part of the reason I was leaning toward black. Yellow, gray and white sounds beautiful! I considered that color combo too :) There are just too many colors to choose from!!

I like the Sangria and I don't see it as a seasonable color at all. There is no rule that you MUST have pastel for a Spring wedding. I too hate pastels and can't wear them.

I'm doing this as well. Colors don't need to coordinate with the season.

I did a black and white evening wedding in April, didn't look morbid at all.  We went with silver and gold as our accent colors and kept the whole thing neutral, but most black and white weddings I see accent with a nice bright color like a yellow or teal.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

Pick the colours you love and screw whatever season it is. :)
