Wow! # of bridesmaids

I have 8 bridesmaids, which I know is what some may consider a lot but recently I was in a dress shop and the owner said that earlier in the week a bride had come in and had 23 bridesmaids! Just curious, any ladies have big wedding parties? Do you find it hard trying to get everything together?

Haha, 23! That must be some WP!

The largest WP I was in was 9 and it wasn't too bad. The Bride let us choose a dress (designer, color, length was the only requirements) and we could order the dress anywhere so the Bride had zero stress about that.

The parties weren't too hard because the MOH was really good on asking people what they would like to do and even though some of the girls didn't know everyone there was really good communication for those who wanted to be involve. So I guess it just depends on how good people can communicate to one another.

Holy crap! At the last two weddings I attended, the brides each just had their MOH and that was it. I will have my MOH and my best friend as bridesmaids and that's it. I don't even know 23 people I like enough to stand up with me at my wedding, lol.

Good lord.  The bride must have asked every woman she'd ever met.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

I'm in a wedding next year where H and I are 2 of 18 in the WP, and their guest list is only 80 people.

We each ended up with 5, and then a FG or RB and I thought that was perfect.  I think people get too carried away with not wanting to hurt people's feelings.

I'm wondering they were cousins or sorority sisters or something lol.

And omg, I would not want to sit through that never ending procession. Yikes.

I have 10 bridesmaids, fiance has 10 groomsmen and we have 2 flowers girls and one ring bearer. We are both from very large Italian families ...and not one person in our wedding party was a "have to".  I wouldnt ask people to be in my wedding if I didn't genuinely want them in it. We are having no trouble at all getting everything together so far. Fiance and I are really laid back about most things so I know that helps but we are still 11 months away from the wedding so i hope everything continues to run smoothly!

It sounds like she asked her entire sorority to be her bridal party. Wowzas.

We have a MOH/BM and five BMs and GMs, no RB or FG. All but three are family. It's a little bigger than I had always imagined having, but it's been wonderful having them by our side for the whole process.

[QUOTE]I saw a wedding with 13 BMs, 13 GMs and 4 FGs and 3 RBs and there was some silent side eyeing from the peanut gallery.  It was the procession that just... kept... going.

I went to a wedding a few months ago that had 4 bridesmaids and 4 groomsmen.  That doesn't sound like a lot until you realize that the wedding was only 35 people.  That's nearly a quarter of the whole wedding!
