We are doing shot glasses (we collect them when we travel) and putting candy in it. Plus we are adding personalized little hershey on the tables too.

My grandmother and members of my family baked 6 different cookie receipes - my favorite, my DH's favorite and then two each of special receipes from our families. We bought/had family members let us borrow antique cookie jars and had a cookie bar.

Candy buffet and mini-champagne bottles on the tables.

BTW, a candy bar isn't necessarily your cheapest option. You can skip favors--no one will miss them.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: What is/was your wedding favors? : This. Unless it's something useful, I don't want it. FI's cousin did beer koozies. Best favor ever. And to totally contradict myself, we thought of doing green jelly beans or M&Ms in test tubes, but I don't think we're going to be able to fit it in expense-wise.

SIL did beer koozies, and we threw ours away. But we don't ever drink beer. I think edible favors is always the best way to go.

Mini donuts buffet - The "fry" them fresh in front of you and then you have a ton of toppings (cinnamon, cinna/sugar, powdered sugar, chocolate, caramel, sprinkles, glaze etc) so you can make your own. We are going to stamp our monogram on old school donut shop bags for people to take them in.

We wanted something similar to a candy bar, but with a twist :P

If it's not in the budget, skip it... as long as people have a nice time, they won't miss the favors!

We did coozies... and I actually have one on my desk at work for my daily coke. We don't drink a lot of beer either, but we served it, so we wanted coozies.

We also did matchbooks... it was a pretty unneccesary expense, and I have a ton left over, but I'm old fashioned and still have some from weddings I went to as a kid so I wanted to do them.

We are looking at personalized mugs from discount mugs (probably 1 per couple that RSVPs) with cocoa packets in them, or chocolate covered pretzels with something saying "thank you for being with us as we tied the knot"

I'm not so good with the advice... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

We are doing a photobooth that prints out 2 pictures. One will be for our scrapbook (they can make a page..or two..or several) and one for them to keep. I also got a great deal (thank you coupons!) on coasters. Each person will have 2 coasters tied with ribbon in our colors. The outside has words (love, joy, happiness, etc) and on the inside I am doing a label (hadn't figured it out yet) of our names and our wedding date. I wanted to do something different. Thought about a candy buffet, but I don't think there will be a lot of people who will be into that, then we will have a lot of candy left.
