Buying a BM dress online?

I picked out the dress I wanted my bridesmaids to wear, and told them to order it through this particular store. One of my BM however, lives far away, and she wanted to know if, rather than ordering the dress through the store and having it shipped to her, if she could order it "online" since she found it less expensive on one of those "order a BM dress online for cheap" website. Does anyone have any experience with ordering the dresses online? I'm worried the color shade may be off from the rest of the girls ordering it through the bridal store.

Advice? Experiences?

I have been in a WP where everyone ordered their dresses online from different stores and at different times. All the dresses matched no one had a different shade (which very hard to do because they are all coming from the main dress company anyway that I'm sure has machines that regulate the exact amount needed for a certain color).
The only reason stores use the "scare tactic" of "the shade will be off" is because they are a business and they trying to get as many of your BMs to buy a dress from them as possible.

Go to the WP boards there is a post about buying BM dresses online and who have used what.

If it's the same dress from the same company it shouldn't matter where it's ordered from.  (I ordered all of mine online, though I haven't seen them yet, as all of my BMs live in other states.)

The shades shouldn't differ from one another. Just make sure it is a reputable site she is ordering from.

My sister had us all wear Truffle dresses from DB.  They were purchased from different stores at different times, with one being purchased used off eBay.  If there was any difference in the shades, it wasn't enough to be visible to the naked eye.  As long as it's from the actual designer and not a knock-off, the dye lots are calibrated by computer and the variation should be microscopic.

Just be sure to read as many reviews as you can dig up about the site before purchasing, and be very familiar with their exchange/return policy.  If there aren't any reviews, the reviews are mixed/bad, or they don't permit exchanges or returns of any sort, keep looking.

This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

My bridesmaids are thinking of ordering from Houseofbrides.com so I have been researching that.  So far I have found good reviews.

I found a dress I loved on bestbridalprices.com and have the same concerns... anyone ever use them before?
