I decided at the last minute to get my hair and makeup done for my engagement picture session. I called and got an appointment at Halo Salon & Color Lab in Fort Worth with only a couple days' notice. I'd never been there before, I just googled, liked the reviews, and loved the price for airbrush makeup.
Hair: I just asked for them to wash/blow-dry/curl the ends a bit; pretty vague, I just said I wanted it to look nice and not get all messed up/frizzy in the wind. They ended up curling my hair all over (and I have long, straight, thick brown hair that NEVER curls) so I had nice, touseled, wind-blown hair for the pics. I got a lot more than I expected, and for $45. Well worth it.
Makeup: I told the makeup artist (Kari) that my skin is dry/sensitive, so she airbrushed some moisturizer on first. It felt great. I couldn't feel the makeup - if anything, my skin felt great because it goes on just like a quick spritz/mist over your face. The total was $55, just like it says on the website. The makeup artist said she'll travel for weddings - for a travel fee, which I didn't specifically ask for.
I was running so late (the curling process took a while) that I barely got to look in a mirror. So I don't have any pictures, and I don't even know what difference the airbrushed foundation made (the eye makeup she did looked fantastic). But, I thought the makeup looked fine when we went to dinner afterward, despite it being very warm out and me wearing dark jeans, long sleeves, and generally roasting for the sake of looking slim in the pics. I can imagine the traditional makeup would've been pouring down my face by mid-afternoon, for comparison, but the airbrush held up.
Overall: I'm probably going to go back to this salon the next time I need my highlights/trim. I liked it better than the salon I've been going to since I moved to Texas. And I'll definitely get airbrush the day of the wedding, and I'm reasonably sure I'll go to this salon for my wedding (though it's so far away I'll probably wait to call).
ETA: I saw the first five or so pictures, and the makeup/hair looks great. It honestly doesn't look like I'm wearing makeup at all - in a good way
