B&M Monday

Our house is still a wreck with boxes everywhere!

And I'm really hoping this tropical storm doesn't turn towards Houston--I'm looking forward to seeing my in-laws this weekend for the 4th. (yup, I'm serious--I'm actually looking forward to it)

So the person that lives above us moved out this weekend.  I thought I would be really happy about it - but I know that all that noise wasn't really her fault.  It's the crappy building.  So, now I'm just scared someone even louder will move in.  Our apartment complex is ridiculous.  I wish we could find an affordable townhome or house.

We spent $180 at Costco this weekend and I only bought about half of what I really wanted.

I have a meeting at 7:30 am tomorrow.

Where do you live Lacey? We were thinking we could only afford an apartment, but we found a great duplex in the M Streets for under $1000/month. And no one lives above us!

How am I suppose to find a venue that is close when I live in the country! My parent's just don't seem to understand why everything is more than 30 minutes away. LET'S SEE...WE LIVE IN THE COUNTRY! arg...They don't get it.

I LOVE the M streets!  But, it might be too far south for us.  FI works at 635 and the Tollway and I work in North Plano.  We live in North Dallas (635/35). I used to live in the White Rock Lake area - which I loved, but the commute was awful.  Hmm... I will consult with FI.  I could easily just go up 75 and cross PGBT.  Going north in the morning and south in the evening usually isn't too bad, since all the traffic is usually going the opposite way.  We were considering moving off of NW Hwy/Preston-ish area - so the M Streets honestly aren't that much more south.  Thanks Marissa - I will check it out.  :)

Marrisa - it took us about 3 or 4 months to get rid of all the boxes in our apartment. I understand your frustration. By the way, your house is so adorable!!

This is Brad's last week at his current job and the guys are being such a jerk to him. They're making him switch lunch to the latest lunch, when he usually takes the second earliest lunch. And they're trying to make him work Saturday, even though it was understood that Friday would be his last day. I'm about ready to march up there and give them a piece of my mind!

My best friend is moving out of the country tomorrow and I am very sad. Her husband is a pilot and just recently(as in the past few weeks) got a great job offer recently to fly for an over seas airline, so they are moving.
She won't be able to make my wedding, and I am very very sad.

I bought a breadmaker at Macy's this weekend for a steal of a deal ($22) and went to the store immediately and bought ingredients.   Well, as I get ready to start adding ingredients to the pan, I realize the kneading blade is missing from the box.  I bought the only one they had, so now I'm stuck either trying to get parts from the manufacturer or just taking it back.  Argh...

Hurricane Alex is going to totally ruin our vacation.  We are going to spend $700 to spend the week reading books and looking at each other.  I really want to just forfeit the one night and stay here but Ben won't do it.  At least we get free breakfast.

My little girl is sick... allergies and just general feeling like crap... but I had to take her daycare this morning because my boss FLIPS if I am not here on Monday.  Daycare hasn't called me to pick her up but I really want to tell him that they called, just so I can go get her and take her home.  :(

soon to be- I am so sorry I know that sucks, me moving to TX really sucked for me and my best friend since 7th grade.  We are both getting married next year and our weddings have almost become an inconvenience to eachother (neither of us will say it but we both know it) and we both went over our cell phone minutes by more than 50.00 this first month so skype is going to have to be the way.

My resume is not sales based AT ALL and all I am receiving is offers for sales positions when I clearly state I am interested in service and all of my background is in managing service, very frustrating.  I am having my old HR manager give it a once over to make sure I am not missing something.

The movers broke our TV and said it would take about 30 days to finish the claim, I emailed today to inquire about the status and now they said they TRY to get it resolved in 30 but it can take 60.  I have pictures and other documentaiton that they do not even care to see.

I'm so tired of planning and everything about this one day being so built up. I'm just ready for it to be over and for us to be married! 6 weeks and 3 days...I can do it!

Serlace, I will start work very close to where your fiancé works in 2 weeks--we actually chose this area because it is only 15-20 minutes to the med school for Jay and I could go against traffic on I-75. The best thing about the M Streets is its easy proximity to 75--we actually stayed away from moving closer to White Rock because of the huge amount of added time it seems to  take to get around the lake. I'll let you know how bad my commute is in 2 weeks!

Today is my first day back to work after the wedding and the honeymoon...boo! I wish I was still off...if I could work from home I would so be all over that.
Friends and family say I should get into the wedding planning business but I'm scared to do it part time while I build my clientele and my husband wants me all to himself for a while, lol. My wedding took over a room in our house and I can only imagine what multiple would do! I would have a dedicated office....humm may not be a bad thing - corporate America is killing me!

I am having a bad luck streak!  I am soooo ready for my luck to turn around.  Last tuesday I got home to an absolute mess.  My dog had gotten sick and went to the bathroom all over my livingroom....and then walked in it!  I can't even change a diaper so trying to clean this mess was a task for me.  Not to mention, that's Chris's job!  But considering he's gone for a month I had to do it.  Well, round two the next morning didn't help matters.  All the while, I have been sick for a week.  This weekend I tried to finish registering.  The machines at the target I went to were down so I had to drive across town to go to another one.  Got the little scanner thingy, went all the way to the back of the store, and it died.  Finally finished at Target then I went to Lowe's.  FYI, they don't do registries there anymore.  I knew I shouldn't have had my invites printed before I actually finished registering.  Okay, I think that's enough B&M to hold me over for a while.  Sorry to write a novel here.

Marissa - yes let me know.  I really loved living in the White Rock area - but you are right - it was such a pain driving around the lake.  I think going straight up 75 would not be so bad.  Do you mind PMing me and letting me know where your duplexes are?  Also, for future reference I don't recommend going west on 635 in the mornings - it's brutal - especially the ramp to go from 75 - to 635 - it get's backed up.  When we lived by White Rock - FI took NW Hwy all the way across.

I finally start working in two weeks, after getting engaged + quitting my job + moving to TX this past winter. I got the job two weeks ago, but have to wait to actually start. I know I could be using this time for something productive, but I'm not doing anything! Also, I'm terrified because after seven months of unemployment, I think the first month of working again is going to be totally exhausting.

Today would have been the day we landed in South Africa for our vacation. Amazing how things change...

I'm 38 weeks pregnant today and have decided that I'm done doing anything until I absolutely have to. To kick off doing nothing, I took a nap from 10-1pm and see another one in my near future.

I'm listening to a conference call that is about a lot of BS... to top it off, one engineer starts off every comment with "actually", and every question with "Can I ask you a question?"  (I really want to respond, "yes, you just used up your one")

actually, I think I'm just in a bad mood.  And actually, I think it is just making everything get on my nerves.  Actually, on second thought, saying actually before every comment is obnoxious!

I need to return one of my BM dresses to exchange it for a different size, and I was hoping to do it over lunch, but the manager wasn't going to be there (and I want to make sure I don't drive 30 minutes for nothing!!)... I wish I could leave work now and do it, but I was out Friday and now everything is in emergency mode!

I just got back to Raleigh-Durham from Winston-Salem.  It took me an extra half hour to get out of town because they don't have signs in W-S that say "Stupid St. next light" like they do in D-FW.  AND, I needed gas so I took an exit.  The gas station had every bay blocked off so I went to the next exit and had to drive fifteen minutes off the interstate to find the nearest gas station.  This trip to North Carolina for my conference would have been a lot better if they did things here like they do in Texas.  I hardly ever voice my Texas snobbery but trying to find things in this state has take four times longer than normal.

Did you put your registry information on your invitations?

I meant my bridal shower invitations.  I'm definitely not putting the registry info on my actual wedding invites.

One more nosey question (and it's just me):  are you throwing your own bridal shower?

No, my aunt and sister are throwing it for me.
