Mom's Dress

Is it necessary for my mother's dress to coordinate with the wedding colors?  I'm going with black BM dresses with a hot pink sash.  I was thinking it would be nice if she was in gray or something but we're having a hard time finding a dress she likes in a color I like.  Would it be OK if she was in royal blue or burgandy?  Thanks ladies!

Yes!  Your mother or FMIL do not need to coordinate with your wedding colors.  Just tell your mom to find a dress that she likes and let that be that.

Ditto. Tell her to find something she likes and is comfortable in.  There's no need to coordinate.

Ditto PP, your mother does not have to match the BMs or wedding decor. As long as she is comfortable I wouldn't worry too much about what she wears.

Royal blue or burgandy are fine, if she has found a dress she loves in those colors let her wear it. You rarely get moms+BMs photos but even so if your BMs are wearing black, well, black matches with everything.

Your mom can wear whatever she feels beautiful and comfortable in.

Your mom isn't a BP member, so she doesn't have to wear any certain color or coordinate at all.

You could even let her wear a color whether you liked that color or not.

YOur mom and FMIL are not bp members so they don't have to coordinate with your colors. However, if they want to, cool. If not, whatever. HTH

No, your mom's dress does not have to coordinate with the wedding party's attire.

All I suggest is that her dress not clash with them, for when there are group photos.  My daughter also had black BM dresses, and I wore a gray dress, the MOG wore a green dress.  My "back up" dress was a grayish teal color.

To "go with" black BM dresses with hot pink sash, I think gray or silver would also be my first choice.  Also burgundy/wine, purple, plum, antique lavender, rose pink, taupe, navy, teal (blue/green), etc...  So pretty much any color.
