A Music Wave DJ

So, I asked A Music Wave for a quote  (my fiance wanted me to branch out from Melody and Memories... and see if I liked anyone else before making any committments)... and DJ Andrew responded the same night with a list of questions that he had before he would quote me (which is just fine, I understand wanting to get more information).

He then replied back a week later with a quote... his opening...

"Hi Amy, Congrats on your engagement!  We are available for Saturday, March 27th"

Two things... my name is Brianna... and March 27th is a Sunday.

Is it weird that I'm totally put off by this guy now?

OK, end rant.

I was put off by him a bit too but for a different reason.  We were going to meet to chat about what I wanted and when we were talking location he wasn't willing to come north.  He wanted me to go somewhere off of 20.
I know I have my little bubble of where I drive, but still.  I'm interviewing you here.

Up to the day of the wedding our DJ was going by the wrong names!  Even on the outline we had to correct her.

Since it is wedding season maybe he got emails screwed up?  I've only heard good things about him so I know I would try to look past this and see if you're still getting the vibe at the meeting but if your gut is saying no now, listen to it!

"That's great and all but I'm not Amy and my wedding isn't on Saturday March 27th."

I've heard good things about him too, but the man WOULD NOT stop calling me when I was planning... even after I spoke to him and told him we booked someone.  He tried pretty hard to talk me out of them, even though he had no idea who I had booked, etc.   Then called about once a week every week after that.   I finally stopped answering but he never stopped calling.

There was a meeting mix up with my DJ that annoyed me quite a bit but he ended up being just fine.  I agree with shortgirl's comment that he might have gotten things mixed up since it's wedding season.  However, if it's put you off, then that's your decision.  Call some other DJ's or just explain to your FI why you don't care for this guy.

I've had that happen with vendors. I think they have a set email they send and change out names and dates. Maybe he forgot to save before sending. I heard great things about him too and that he was affordable.

Thats weird about the name.....but not the date. I have had several vendors say Saturday for my wedding. If it is months away (or a year) they will sometimes not look at their calendar and just know they arent booked that far in advance...most vendors assume weddings are on Saturdays (mine is on a Friday)

However, I would just trust your gut! I had a bad feeling about a vendor and passed on her services. I am glad I did b/c I love my vendor I ended up going with :)
