laser hair removal vs waxing?

Just wondering if anyone has had laser hair removal on their upper lip or underarms? I know its weird but I've never tried either one & don't know which is better! Any suggestions would be helpful. TIA

Let me start off by saying my mom is full Mexican, and sadly lots of body hair comes with being a Mexican. About 8 years ago, she had laser removal done on her face. She has barely any on her face anymore and what she does have is blonde. I highly recommend it, as would she. She did waxing or Nair for years and she's much happier with these results.

I have actually had laser hair removal on my bikini, lower legs, and underarms.  I am still going through the last couple of treatments, but I have definitely noticed less hair.  Its a little more expensive, but I think it is worth it!

ditto the post before me. i'm on my 7th treatment for lower legs, full bikini, underarms and nipples. started a year and a half ago. it is EXTREMELY painful and expensive, but totally worth it!!! waxing hurts really bad as well, but you have to do it your whole life,... laser will lighten and lesson the amount of hair you have a hopefully make it all dissappear!!! each time you get a treatment, the hair grows back lighter and less. i hardly have any hair on my legs (where i'm getting the best results) and what does grow is very fine and light. the other spots are taking longer, but still is getting better.

Thanks ladies! I'm so nervous about the laser thing but it seems to be the best from all the reviews. I think I might be starting a little late since the wedding's in July but hopefully there will be some kind of difference. Wish me luck! :)

to let you know more about the laser.... you shave (or they shave you) and you get the laser, then over the next 3 weeks or so, no more hair will grow, but the hair you have will "push out" and fall out. then you have a period of no hair, before the next stage of hair grows back in. so..... about 3-4 weeks before the wedding would be the time to do it... if you do it now, by july, the next stage will have already grown back and you won't see ANY difference from before you had the laser. you might want to have a free consult with them and they can explain it further in detail and advise you on the timeline.

I had laser hair removal on my upper lip and it was VERY painful! I only made itthrough 4 sessions before I quit going. HOWEVER, I have a very low pain threshold!

I am currently doing my face and full bikini.  The face was not painful at all.  The bikini was not too bad till they got in the close in areas!  OUCH!  But...I got the numbing cream they sell there and that did the trick!  I have always waxed and even after the first treatment I can tell this is totally worth it!
