hair streaks with henna

My friend has dyed her hair with henna before but has anyone done color streaks with henna? I have light brown hair and would want red streaks like here (ignore base color)

this is my natural and current color, which I am keeping as the base. (look at the hair that's in the sun)

Re: hair streaks with henna

  • DON'T DO IT! Yes, henna gives you a lovely red. One thing that's over looked is the fact that it is impossible to remove from the hair, besides grow and cut.
  • so should I just use regular dye? what prod do you recommend for what I want to do?

You best bet is to get it done professionally. (Yes, I'm biased.)

If you insist on doing it yourself, head to a Sallys Beauty Supply. The ladies there will be able to help you pick out a great professional-grade color, give you instructions on mixing & applying. If you're going for a bright red, I really like the Hi-Lift Reds from Loreal. No bleaching required, and it's SUPER bright.

^ That red was done that that product.
