Make Up Tips Needed!

Hello all my fellow brides to be! :) I was wondering if anyone had any tips on wedding day make up. I am looking for something very natural. I'm thinking just a little eyeshadow and mascara. I don't normally wear a lot of make up so I don't want to not look like myself, but I know I should look a little more fancy than every day wear :) Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Also, anyone have any good brands for waterproof mascara? Every one I have tried so far has been very thick and clumpy and doesn't feel natural. Thanks so much!

  • Can you go to a department store or a Sephora and get a consultation? They can color match you and help you figure out exactly what you want.
  • That's a great idea, thanks so much for the tip!
  • My fave mascara is from Avon, but I've found the brush matters much more than the actual mascara, I agree with PP about gettng a consultation!
  • I love Avon Mascara also!

  • I agree, get a consult. Even if you don't wear a full face of makeup, I suggest one for the day-of so you're not washed out in picutres. You should get a foundation/tinted moisturizer to even out your skin, a complementary blush to dust on your cheeks, and some neutral eye makeup. A champagne colorwash is complementary on most people, so tru sweeping a champage colored eyeshadow across your lids. For a bit more drama, grab a brown and blend a touch into the outer corners and your crease. Follow it up with a good eyeliner in dark brown (More natural than black) blended into the top lashline for a bit more definition. Follow up with your fav mascara- I swear by the one in the pink bottle!

If its a DIY, try it on a few weeks before the day and wear it out and about and check your reflection in natural and flourescent lighting. The more you practice, the better the application will be! • wow, thank you so much for all of your suggestions!! I agree, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the mascara in the pink bottle. It's one of the cheapest out there, but it is amazing! I will have to see how their waterproof stand up to the regular. Thank you again for all of your thoughts! :)
  • Mary Kay recently came out with a new waterproof mascara called lash love and it defines your lashes and makes them really pop!
