I saw in your profile that your family is caribbean. Did you find a DJ that had experience playing caribbean music for your reception? If so, can you pass along the contact information. Both my family and fiance's family is caribbean and I would like to infuse music from both our cultures in the reception and I am having problems with the DJ I initally wanted to use.

Thanks!

Actually we didn't really have anything Caribbean because I planned mostly from OOT and didn't want/need anything extra to do since I was busy with school. LLC(or something like that) found a steel band to play for hers and I have the info somewhere at home but we couldn't work it into the budget. Sorry I couldn't help you more!

Island Boogie is the steel drum duo that we are using for the ceremony music and cocktail hour.  My dad is from Trinidad and Tobago, so we're doing the steel drum as a surprise/nod to his heritage.

Thanks ladies, I've heard them play at a wedding a few years ago. I also wanted to book them but don't if  I will have room in the budget for them and a DJ. I haven't contacted them yet and it may be too late now, but are their prices fairly reasonable?

For 2 hours, we're paying $500 for a steel band duo.
