Wording invitations with a deceased parent

Hi there,This is my first post and I'm looking for some advice on the wording of my invitations.  My mother passed away 3 years ago but I can't NOT mention her on my invitation (I know etiquette says do not include her but I need to).We had put:Doug and the Late Linda request the honour of your presence at the marriage of their daughterBethtoMarkSon of....My Dad read my proof and said since she technically can't 'request' anything from anyone it sounded awkward.  Does anyone have any suggestions or been in a similar situation and has any advice?Thank you

Re: Wording invitations with a deceased parent

  • This question was posted quite a few months ago, but for anyone who still wonders about this... My mom and step mom are hosting the wedding, and my dad passed away. So the invitation will say something about them hosting it and then after my name put "daughter of the late Pete..." does that make sense? That way it's not saying he's hosting it, just mentioning that I am the daughter of the late Pete....
