Granted, the OP did pull the "why are you still on the knot" card, but she is new, and that is kind of expected.

Yes, it's a silly question, but why be so rude and hateful? Hey, who knows, some venues may automatically include the B&G in the count. I love how they automatically assume she is cheap.  I wonder how many new members the Knot loses to the bitches on the Etiquette board.

I can't deal with the cutting down and bickering that goes on on most of the boards, so I generally don't post on any but this one. Even if some don't get along, everyone seems to be at least civil on this board, which I am thankful for.

Yeah, that is just ridiculous.... and come to think of it, we had a buffet and I added vendors, but I don't think I added DH and I.  The world didn't come crashing down. 

I always thought it was weird that married brides with no intention of being constructive are still on here.

Seriously, I post on here and the March 2011 (and not much on the month board) board for this reason... They are so hateful and mean.  What's wrong with being nice and constructive without ripping someone apart?  And they kept insulting her even after she was gone!  Oh well, I guess they get some kind of satisfaction out of it.  I know that I won't be posting over there... I will ask any and all etiquette questions from from DFW board!

Yea I don't really like the other boards!  And honestly, when I first started planning, I had the exact same question.  I just didn't know!

I hate this....the boards are for questions like this - things that pop in your heads that may be silly to some but seriously all this is not necessary! Don't be so rude that ppl will want to leave the boards b/c there are boards like this one where honest and constructive criticism and advise is given. Helpful information is always given and no one is rude here.

Its that southern charm we all have I have always heard from people who visit Dallas that everyone is so nice and helpful.....well what can I say, we are just awesome like that


(and DAMN they all act like they are english teachers for a living....they love belittling someone for using incorrect grammar. We are online, on a chat forum...there is a little budge in perfect grammar haha) I think they would all lose their minds when we say "ya'll"

Agreed.  What's the point in deconstructive advice.  It's people like them that makes other people have to go therapy.  I'm sure they get some kind of satisfaction in it... I'm sure they aren't so caddy in the real world, no one would put up with it.

I stopped posting anywhere but here and on my month board.  Everyone else is so judgemental and they lash out if you ask an honest question that you want to know the answer too.  I tried to look through the older post before I asked a simple question and they all flipped out because they were asked the same question again.  I'm sorry but with all the annoying post its hard to look through them to get an answer.  I gave up and I'm so glad we have this board with nice and helpful ladies!

Yes, I just don't understand.  I mean - if the question was stupid then one person should have responded and said yes - you need to include yourself in the head count and the caterer usually charges for each person, including children.  Why must they bash her to death.  One of the main bashers is a mod on another board - I would think mods should not encourage that type of behavior, much less be joining in.  But what do I know.  I just stick to the boards that I like.

I completely agree with serlace on this!! I mean if one person had just said "Hey yeah for most caters you need to add yourselves in the head count" that would have been the end of it. To tell her really are you trying to get out of paying for yourself was not necessary. I didn't even think of adding Jeff and I in the head count. It just didn't cross my mind yet. I'm sure we've all had questions that seem like common sense to people, but we didn't know it so we ask. No reason to get hostile. 
I love this board!! My month board is great too, plus the South Asian one. I got lucky!!

That is just so mean!  I would like to thank all of you ladies for being so kind and helful with your advice.  I don't even venture to the other boards after what I have seen here lately.

LOL - me either!  I was reading her post and thinking "oh! that's a great point, I didn't even think of that!

Oh well... thank goodness for the nice boards that are "full of puppies and rainbows"... I wouldn't want it any other way!  There's such a thing as class and tact, and well, we have it!  :)

I tried to figure out what the big deal was with Steph & that Amoro person the other day but I couldn't get through all of the bitchiness to figure it out. Oh well. 

I also like how the girls on the Snarky Brides board don't think they are bitchy.

One of the etiquette girls said the other day (regarding the nail polish)  that brides shouldn't worry about the stupid stuff but it's those same girls that make you feel like you <u>must</u>.

I have a theory that many of them were picked on themselves IRL or something...

And some of them LIVE on the boards--not just during the work day, but all hours of the night too. That does make me question how much of a life they have

This is the reason I very rarely post on any board but this one nad my month board. People on E are just rude and hateful. And half the time its the regs talking about things most people don't care about. I get some pretty silly questions and I want to be able to ask them because I just don't know the answer. When I get it, it seems obvious to me. But I don't like to be attacked for asking a question.

I do worry about the fact that these women spend all hours of the day and night on the boards. How can they possibly have a functioning life, job or marriage when all they do is spend all their time on TK?
