something old, new, borrowed and blue

I picked baby blue to be apart of my colors for my wedding, will this count toward the blue? I'm a bit confused about this tradition. My colors are teal and baby blue. Thanks

Re: something old, new, borrowed and blue

  • Traditionally they are supposed to be things you wear. That said, you can choose to do it in any way you choose, or not at all, but according to the tradition, it wouldn't count.
  • I thnk I'm confused by your question. If you are asking if the color itself counts - no, If you are wearing something bue because of your colors - yes. HOH
  • I'm having a similar dilema! I have my something old and new, but the borrowed and blue are giving me issues.

  • I have a question... can one item double up as two?  I am going to borrow my future mother-in-law's sapphire ring.  It's old and blue!  Am I covered from the evil spirits?
  • I attached a blue bow to my garter, in place of the white one it came with, wore my grandmother's pearls for "old," brand-new perfume(that I'd been lusting after for a while anyways) for "new," and borrowed some earrings from my mother that my father gave her years ago.  I did end up with a penny for my shoe as well, because a bright shiny one was sitting right in front of my car when the girls and I left the restaurant upon finishing up our "girls' morning out."
