Do you have a song that is meaniingful to you? One that reminds you of your childhood?

I'm using I Just Called to Say I Love You and I'm doing the mother/son father/daughter together.

I got a lot of great lists to start with just by googling "father daughter dance songs."  Some of my favorites I've narrowed it down to are "You'll be Blessed" by Elton John, "Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers and "Lullaby" by Billy Joel.  In addition two songs by Faith Hill, "If I should fall behind" and "There you'll be" are really pretty.  Hope it helps!  I'd love to get any other ideas too! :)

Here is the list we chose from and we did the Trace Adkins song for a combined F/D-M/S song.  The song title might be wrong on here as is "Gonna Be".

    Reba McEntire* #1    Gonna be
Ben Folds- #2    Still Fighting It
    Trace Adkins #3    They Do
Unknown Artist    What are you doing the rest of your life?
    DMB    In My Life
10,000 Maniacs / Natalie Merchant     These Are The Days

Weddingwire has a TON of ideas so you might want to check them out!

My FI and his mom are dancing to "Sweet Caroline."  FI is a HUGE Red Sox fan and his dad is a HUGE Yankee's fan... this is sure to get a laugh out of a few people.
    :-)

Our song we are dancing to is "Lucky in Love" by Colbie Callait

Not sure about the father daughter dance...

My dad and I danced to "Father/Daughter" by Paul Simon.  I started crying when he picked it out.  Bill and his mom danced to "Because You Loved Me".  It was a little creepy in my opinion and I now want to vomit whenever I hear it.

We're doing "I Loved Her First" by Heartland for Father/Daughter and I'm pretty sure we've decided on "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts for mother/son (that one was harder).

Thanks for the help.  I think we're going to do "I loved her first" and "My Wish".

The DJ recommends doing a mother-in-law son dance.  Haven't decided if we're going to do that or not.  I mean I'm sure my mom will dance with him during the honeymoon dance, but not sure if we want a separate dance.

We're song twins now... ;)  We should go for the trifecta- what is your fist dance?

I don't recommend a third dance. To be completely frank, no one pays attention to the "special" dances, especially with booze flowing. If you add another dance, it is just more reason for ppl to start to lose a little bit if interest. Its funny, my first dance with my husband was really important to me, until it was time to do it. So much was going on, we just wanted to enjoy the party, not have so much "scheduled" stuff. It was special for sure, just don't add more stuff if you don't have to... Just my 2 cents. :):)
