Marriage License Questions

Does it matter what country you apply for the license in? We are getting married in Dallas County, but I live in Denton County.

Anybody do the online application?

Oh, and do we just give it to our officiant and they send it in?

    1.  Nope.  We got our license in Denton County but go married in Collin.  I didn't do the online application.

    2.  We just gave it to the officiant at the rehearsal and he did everything after that.

I did the online application and they completely ignored me when I told them that.   They made me fill out all the forms again.

Don't know about the county thing as we live in Denton Co. and got married in Denton.

The officiant signed it and we went to the courthouse and turned it in ourselves.

Oh, and did you need anything other than a drivers license and $$$?

I think that is all we needed, but bring exact cash.  I don't think anyone will accept a check or credit card.

We gave it to our deacon at our final meeting which was about a week out from our wedding. He did the rest.

Btw, Catholic services do not require a signature from witnesses, i.e. best man/maid of honor. So don't be surprised if your priest/deacon doesn't require these.

I did the online application but I don't remember if we ended up having to do anything other than sign papers.  I remember that it kind of made us next in line though because they had paperwork to fill out before you could talk to the man at the desk.  Another couple didn't come with cash and they were very irate that Dallas County wouldn't take anything else.  It meant he had to run all over the little area trying to find a safe ATM.  BTW, we got ours at the Dallas Co. Annex off of Midway (I think).  They weren't busy at all.
