Garter with trumpet style dress?

How to do this??  Anyone else going to omit this tradition because of the style of your dress?  FI really wants to, but I'm not sure how it will work.

I ordered my toss garter half the size of my other one so it will sit on top of my calf below my knee :-)

wow... i've been tossing between a trumpet style dress and a more traditional style but with a dropped waist and the garter hadn't even crossed my mind, thanks ladies i think you just helped me make my decision

I'm probably going to work it down to my knee for him.  Or pin it on the inside of my dress
