Has anyone heard of this?

I was home sick the last two days and had a Bridezillas marathon.  On one episode they had a "junior bride."  Not a junior bridesmaid, but a 14-15 year old girl in a dress that looked like an actual wedding dress, with tiara and all.  It was beyond bizarre. 

Oh yeah, then when the "junior bride" tried on the dress, the bride thought it was too big on her but went on to say 'It's okay, I can just make it my sixth dress!"  I wish I was kidding.  She thought her wedding was a fashion show.

I saw that episode. That lady was ridiculous. Wasn't she 2 hours late to her wedding and then spent the whole time changing into different dresses?

Oh! And she kicked all the kids out of her reception because she didn't have a room big enough to hold everyone.

ETA: And mini-brides are totally creepy to me. The only person wearing a wedding dress at a wedding, no matter what it looks like, should be the bride.

I think the junior bride thing is so weird.

I saw that episode of Bridezillas.  That lady's wedding was a hot mess.  She showed up to the ceremony 2 hours late and didn't have enough seating at the venue for all of her guests.  Some went home and then she made all of the kids go into a different room so that there'd be seats for the adults to sit in.  This is from a bride who then modeled her five wedding dresses for her guests to ooh and ahh over and take pictures.  A mess!

</div><div>Oh I forgot about that part, but yes.  She was upset because they vastly underestimated how many people they had room for, so then when she got to the reception she was walking around to each table and ushering all the kids out of the room, down the hall where there was nothing set up for the kids to do.  They were all just sitting on benches in this random room!

It seems like she willingly invited more guests than the venue could accommodate.  When they were doing the seating chart, she just stated that the venue could hold like 90 and they had 200 coming (or something like that).  She didn't seem shocked or upset or anything. 

Didn't she also mention that they spent $30K on the wedding?  I know they were in California, but my god!  They couldn't find a larger venue with that budget?  I guess all the money went to the dresses (which weren't that great looking).

Oh ... I can't remember who it was now, but somebody (That posts here) was saying a while back some girl on her club board is having flowers girls and a "mini-bride" ... apparently more than one person on said club board said "Oh, that's such a cute idea" ... and they kind of all got mad at "our girl" when she said "Dude, that's creepy. Don't do it".

They all are insane.  I will completely admit I watch it to feel much better about my own life and wedding planning experience.

That was me.  I tried to be as tactful as possible by saying that I thought it was "a little" weird, and they jumped on me because the mini-bride was the OP's daughter....somehow that made it creepier for me.

Yeah, I don't hang around my club board anymore.

I stand by my original assessment.  Mini-brides are CREEPY!

There was a "junior bride" on 4 Weddings the other week too.  The real bride was renewing vows with her husband for their 25th wedding anniversary, she was a huge diva who was always talking about bling and glitz...  Her daughter was dressed as a junior bride in a giant white ballgown and it was super creepy.  And they both did the super-slow choreographed walk down the aisle.  Yuck.

Is it me, or is it incredibly paradox-ish that the women that have mini-brides tend to be the same narcissists that insist that nothing "take away from the bride", down to like banning their MIL from wearing ivory or write "no jeans" on the invites ... like why, if you're so concerned that somebody might not focus on you (the bride) for 5 seconds are you dressing up a little girl to look exactly like you?

My head is ready to explode just trying to figure that out. You stupid brides, you're giving me a headache with all this thinking. Now I'm going to have to take a nap and that's going to ruin my hair and make-up!!!!

DH saw the Jamaican bride who supposedly lived in Jersey in a Starbucks in Long Beach without any accent or wedding ring, so I'm pretty convinced that it's all staged.

This is part of why I'm so glad I had a child-free wedding.  I've only seen two flower girls IRL: One wore brown with a pink floral pattern, and one wore an Alice in Wonderland costume.  The mini-bride thing is weird.

My mom and I were looking online for FG dresses, and when we saw some of the mini-bride options, we both stared at the computer screen and said in unison, "What the hell is wrong with people?"  

My BM dresses are cobalt with a coral sash.  The FG really likes pink, so her dress will be coral.  Everybody's happy, and nobody looks creepy.

Frankly, I adored being a miniature bride. But I was about five and had a huge crush on the miniature groom. So, go me for being extra creepy?

So...I have news for you guys!

Bridezillas is real. Can you believe that?

They get compensated of course...I guess to make up for their idiocies?

But yeah, my dad knows the exec producer (friends with him on FB actually) and I had him message the guy. Obviously he's on a non-disclosure basis so he can't reveal everything but he was like, "Yeah, these girls are unreal, but they are indeed real people. I'm amazed every day at what they will stoop too."

So I'm not the only one who thought it was weird that 90% of FG dresses I've seen are white.  The white dresses with colored sashes are kind of cute, I guess.  But seriously, little girls are supposed to wear dresses for little girls.  They do not look good in dresses made for grown women (even if those grown women sometimes ACT like little girls).
