Wedding Party

Adding bridesmaid/groomsman

Is it bad form to add a bridesmaid and groomsman after the rest of the party has already been asked/decided? We are still over a year out from the actual wedding.

Re: Adding bridesmaid/groomsman

  • I see no issue with this, as long as they are not replacing anyone and you truly want them to stand for you and not to fulfill some fantasy of a large bridal party or just for even sides.
  • Stop asking people until you are less than a year from the wedding.  People change their minds all the time and there are no "take-backs" on this.

So long as you haven't been advertising your WP for the past few months, no, it's not a problem.  I asked my BMs over the course of a couple of months.

A word of warning from your friends at Cracked.com: Remember that text is going to be how you make your first impression over the internet; if every third word you type is misspelled, people will automatically assume that you're a moron.

  • Mmhmmm......it was BAD. She took me out 2 months prior to her wedding because I expressed a differing opinion about the hairstyle she wanted the BMs to have.

    Wonder why... />.> <.<

My one brunette BM and I are constantly joking about how she needs to dye her hair to match the rest of the BP (who all happen to be blondes). This joke spurred from all the obnoxious posts about "matching hairstyles" on TK. One of my BMs asked me what hairstyle I wanted her to have and my sister (MOH) said I had the blankest look on my face before I finally said, "Uhhhh, whatever you ask for I guess?" I'm paying for a stylist that the girls can use if they so choose, but it's whatever as far as the style goes.

Don't people have anything else to worry about? I gorge on wedding things sometimes too but I spare other humans my guilty pleasures.

  • From the pictures I saw (thank goodness for Facebook, haha) the hair looked absolutely horrid. I would not have wanted to be preserved in time looking like the rest of those girls did.
