Bridesmaids shoes?

My bridesmaids are wearing a dress from Davids Bridal in the color watermelon. I tried to post a link in here like 6 times but it wont work for some reason. It is a short strapless dress. I thought maybe watermelon dyeable shoes to match the dress color but they probably wont ever wear those again. I thought about silver but they are wearing pearl necklaces/earrings. Would that go? What are yalls opinions?

Re: Bridesmaids shoes?

  • I vote gold strappy sandals.  I wouldn't do the dyeables.  I would wear gold sandals again.  Not watermelon (although I have a pair of pink/green plaid platforms that I wear, but that's just me :) ).Carrie
  • Pearl and silver I think are fine.  Silver is a neutral and it's not like their feet will be near their faces....at least not at your reception!!Chocolate brown could also be a great color.
  • Silver shoes will be great with the dresses.  Everything goes with pearls because they're classic.  People wear them with everything from jeans to gowns.
  • Silver will match because it's a neutral. You don't need to match every little thing. Pearl jewelry coordinates with silver shoes. Gold would work as well. Pick a color and then let them find their own shoes. Watermelon shoes would just be wasteful and call a ton of negative attention to their feet. Blech.

  • No one, and I mean NO ONE, is going to compare their jewelry to their shoes.  NO ONE.Give them a neutral color and let them pick their own shoes.

  • Gold shoes would be pretty too. And they won't clash with pearls. (I don't think anyone would notice anyway though)
  • Champagne shoes would go well. Or you could do dyeables and they can re-dye them black after the wedding. I've got two pairs like that, and I use them ALL. THE. TIME. In fact, one pair just died recently, and I'm planning to replace it with another pair of black satin shoes.
  • Silver shoes (although gold would work too). Some of them may even already own silver ones. On behalf of your BMs, please don't go with the watermelon dyeables. ;)
  • I agree, gold and silver would be fine but ABSOLUTELY no dyeables. I didn't know those still existed. :)

  • Dyeable shoe = giant waste of money.  And speaking from very recent experience, David's doesn't always do it well.  Anything neutral will go... depending on if you have another color in the wedding, I think navy would also look great with watermelon and the pearls.
  • Dyeable shoe = staple in my closet. Gold or silver = doesn't exist in my closet and never will. Ask your bridesmaids what they'd prefer. If it was me, I'd go with the dyeables. I hate gold or silver sandals. HATE.
  • I would do Silver, but I would buy them or make all your b.m.'s wear the same style.  I saw wedding photos once and some of the girls were wearing closed toe granny shoes and some of them were wearing nice open toe and they just didn't go together.  I am buying my b.m.'s shoes and jewelry for gifts.
