Advice about how to sell dress and ring

Hi there,I called off my wedding (believe me - it was the right call), and I would like to sell my wedding gown (Melissa Sweet, brand new, unaltered) and a solid platinum men's wedding band.  As both are new (the dress is still being stored at the store where I purchased and the ring has never been worn) I would like to sell them for as much as I can get for them.  I don't want to sell the dress and the ring through the respective dress and jewelry stores because they will charge me for selling them.  I would appreciate advice about how to go about selling these.  Thanks so much!

I'm sorry about your situation. I'm sure it was the right thing to do.For the ring, are you sure the jewelry store will not just take it back as a return. How long ago did you buy it? Maybe if you explain the situation they will just give you your money back considering it was never worn. For the dress, check out sites like preownedweddingdresses.com and oncewed.com. Luckily Melissa Sweet is a highly sought after designer and I wouldn't think you would have much trouble selling it. However, expect to only being getting half or maybe a little better back for it.

there is also a trash to treasure board on the nest and bravobride.com also is a good secure selling site. my brother is a jeweler, i can see if he has any interest in buying your ring or selling it for you.

And local to SA, there is a store on Blanco called Puttin' on the Ritz that sells pre-owned dresses. They are a consignment shop so they take a portion of the sale but I don't know how much. Just a suggestion!

Adelmans Jewlery would most likely take the ring. Julie the owner of encorebridals.com is a friend of mine and she could help you with the dress.
