flowers for guys or just pocket squares?

If the tux comes with white pocket squares, I'm leaning towards only having my FI with a bout of a green carnation & white carnation to match my green dress accent while his vest is purple with a black tie. No pocket square for him. This then saves on flower costs only the moms/gmas & bridal party have flowers the other guys have white pocket squares.... you thoughts are appreciated! Thanks!

That would be fine.  However, I would consider having only the green or the white flower for the groom's bout.  With both, it could start to look a bit like a corsage rather than a bout.

I'm sure it would be fine and look good. I liked my guy had a bout that matched my bouquet. The guys take off their jackets at the reception so I would say go for it!

Totally agree with pp.  A carnation is a good-sized flower.  I don't think I would have more than one for a bout.  I think the pocket squares are fine.  It's nice to have something that adds a bit of color, and I think a pocket square does that just as well as a bout.

all the men in DD's recent wedding had pocket squares instead of bouts.  Groom and best man had silver pocket squares, and the rest of the men had lilac colored.  It looked nice.

we are doing pocket squares that match the bm dresses for everyone.  my fiance thinks bouts look a little too prom-y.  if you are going to do it, i agree with the pp that said only do 1 flower or else it will be a bit much.

Apparently it'll only save round $20 if we didn't do the bout.$184 total for my bouq, 2 BM, 2 moms, 4 gmas (his 3 and my 1), then the bouts for 5 guys.purple carnations & lav daisies for me, white daisies for girls and guys except FI with a green carnation, white-green-purple daisies for moms/gmasMy FI's just going with it... just wants me to be his Mrs.
