Gifts for wedding party

I need suggestions for gifts for bridesmaids and gifts for groomsmen.  My wedding is in October.  Help!

Re: Gifts for wedding party

  • Think about your budget. How much is your budget per person? Think about each individual. What is the nicest thing you could get them for that amount of money. Take your wedding out of it and think what would make them happiest
  • If it was their birthdays, what would you get them? This is also a detail I wouldn't start worrying about until September, to be perfectly honest.

  • I'm getting my 3 BMs a Coach wristlet and my MOH a full size Coach purse. They all LOVE Coach so I think it will be a gift they'll both use and enjoy getting.

  • Shop for each person as if you were shopping for their birthdays or a holiday - think about their interests / style / tastes and fit their gift into your budget from there.  What would you normally buy each BM for her birthday? Use that as a starting point - think non-weddingy type gift (as in steer clear of the monogrammed totes that say "Bridesmaid!" because when are they ever going to use those again post-wedding?)

  • Oh yeah, I forgot I did get them a little tote bag that says bridesmaid/MOH etc.. and filled it with a t-shirt with their title, a candle, and lots of Bath and Body Works products. That's just a present for our spa day though and not their actual gift, the gift is the Coach stuff. My girls are really girly and love that kind of thing though. We had gone shopping together and they saw the tote bags and thought they were adorable.

  • I'm thinking about opal earrings for the girls, since my wedding will be in October and opal is the stone for that month.  But I still have no idea about the groomsmen.I like to plan ahead!  :-)
  • I love the opal earrings idea. My birthday is in October so I have a few pieces of opal jewelry and love them. It's a beautiful stone and goes with everything.

  • The GM gifts are your FI's problem. I would love opal earrings.

  • I got my two BMs an everyday tote bag in a design she'll like (not a "bridesmaid" tote or a monogrammed tote, since they wouldn't use those), a book, a makeup bag and a silly toy flower thing for the rehearsal. That's what I have so far. Other ideas are: gift cards to stores they like, maybe a hoodie to wear while getting ready (not monogrammed, I mean from a brand that they like, Marshall's is great for inexpensive designer clothes), a DVD, wine or candy, everyday jewelry, mabye craft supplies (one knits and the other makes jewelry). Wedding-related things: I will likely get them pashmina wraps and black clutch purses, and I am hoping to chip in a bit for their dresses. They've both said that they would like pro hair and makeup done, so hopefully I have some extra money at the end of planning so that I can contribute a bit toward that as well.

  • The opal earrings sound great.  Just make sure that each set matches the bridesmaids' jewelry tastes and you're golden.
  • I'm giving all of my girls a custom made clutch I found on Etsy. She's making them to match my color scheme, which will be dark purple & gray: www.danicadesigns.etsy.comI'm having one made for my purse as well, probably in dark purple.
  • I have some of my bp gifts in my married bio!
