Hi Everyone! I am back from being married this past Sunday. We are trying to pack and get things situated for our honeymoon to Jamaica on Sat. I am so excited!I was so happy with the way everything turned out. I can honestly say it was the best day of my life. We had a blast and it seems like our family and friends did, too.I woke up early Sunday morning and could not go back to sleep. That is when the nerves started kicking in. We decided to do our First Look and wedding party pictures before the ceremony, so we had to be ready pretty early. Unforuntately, at the time we were taking pics it was still hot outside and I was a little uncomfortable and worried that I was sweating. But with the pics I've seen so far, you cannot tell. I am so glad we did this because I had the anticipation of seeing Manny for the first time during the "First Look" and I still had the anticipation for the ceremony as well. So, it's like I got to see him twice for the "first time". Not to mention that because we did our pictures before, we had soooooo much more time at the reception later and we partied it up. I recommend this if you are comfortable with being a little less traditional. The ceremony was beautiful, with a few memorable snafu's. First, my dad stepped on the back of my dress right after he gave me away and I was walking up the altar steps. You could hear the dress rip in the back and the whole crowd gasped. But it was a little rip, nothing that I worried about at all so it was fine. Then during the vows, Manny called me his "awfully wedded wife" instead of "lawfully". Everyone busted out laughing, including me. As if those things weren't enough, when we were exchanging rings I put his on his right hand instead of his left!! So many quirky things happened during the ceremony but like I said,t hey make it more memorable so I didn't mind. The reception was a blast!! Everything looked beautiful. I did not get to eat that much, but honestly I wasn't hungry. We danced the night away until it was time for the send off. I did not want to leave! Although my body was aching, my adrenalin was pumping and I did not feel tired at all.Needless to say, for the past 4 days married life has been great. My advice to you upcoming brides is cliche but it is true - when the day comes just try to let it all go. All your hard work will be worth it. It will be the best day of your life. Soak it all in! Let go and dance! You don't even need to drink...you will have a natural buzz just because it is your wedding day. Have a friend take lots of pictures for you so you can see them soon after! We were lucky enough to have our best man double as a mini-wedding photographer and he came over the next day to show us all the pictures he took so we have been able to see a ton of candids.Thank you ladies again for all your advice! I used a lot of it and it was much appreciated.
