So glad we moved to the east coast :)

  • Did you hear that Colbert didn't file for a permit in time, so now it's the Rally to Promote Sanity and/or Fear.  Or something like that.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

It took me several months to adjust to it, don't worry.

I think that was probably planned the whole time.  I highly doubt DC would allow two rallies at the same time at the same place.

Did you hear the Arrianna Huffington offered to get busses for anyone who wanted to go?  They just had to sign up and be at the Huffington Post next Saturday morning.  Not sure if she's going to be able to live up to this:  On The View today (can't wait until a firm hires me and I have a regular job) she said that she wasn't expecting 14,000 to sign up.

  • I'm really excited to see how it all shakes out.  It really has an opportunity to be a game changer if enough people show up.

  • I'm jealous, and you didn't even page me, lol.

DH and I are going to see Danile Tosh in AC the night before, we booked the tickets and hotel room before the rally was announced, and we just couldn't afford to do both, so we'll be watching the rally stream live on the web. Have fun!

DH and I were contemplating seeing Harry Connick Jr. in AC the night before but decided that we just couldn't do it.

[QUOTE]Oooh I'm going to jump in here. My FI (well, he'll be my H by then) and I based our honeymoon trip to DC on the rally. We were just going to road trip to destination unknown, but when the rallies were announced, it was too fun of a time to pass up. Tldh, that's awesome that you're going, too!

That's awesome.  I knew Aerin wanted to go because when a bride was complaining that a BM was going to miss some of the shower/B-party weekend planned in DC to attend the rally, Aerin replied that she would miss the whole wedding for this.

At the time, we had a little extra money (Well, still do, obviously, since we haven't paid the room in full yet) and Tosh announced on his show that tickets were still on sale for his tour, so we checked it out online and saw "Zomg, somebody we like is coming to the Borgata and it isn't sold out yet!!!!!! We have to go!!!!!".

They announced the rally like a month later (After we'd already received the tickets in the mail), and we were kind of pissed when we realized we couldn't afford to do both without dipping into our "emergency savings".

Now I'm glad we didn't push it: with all of the recent dishwasher/carpet drama, we didn't have to eat ramen for the next 2 months to afford the replacements as pathetically "grown up" as that sounds.

    But I'm still jealous that we're not going <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cry.gif" border="0" alt="Cry" title="Cry" />
