If you just posted on a thread

I deleted it and I apologize if your post count went down by 1!

Re: If you just posted on a thread

  • The vendor one?  LOL, no worries.  But seriously, who are the crazies all of a sudden?
  • I assume you don't mean vendors?

    ::Sigh::

    I just hope that people can look at the big picture before making a decision, judgement, statement, etc.

  • LOL, no this time I actually DO mean vendors.  Look, I own three businesses I'd love to blast all over this place, but I bite my tongue on a regular basis.

    So who are these psychos with unscrupulous business practices who actually think it's OK to circumvent a paid ad and out-and-out advertise their services in threads?  This isn't even a hidden "hey, psst, this vendor is great!" without telling you THEY are the vendor.  This is, "Hi!  I'm a vendor!  Hire me!"  Really?  The Knot/Nest are already fairly generous in allowing links to blogs that can then link to businesses.

    As for the other crazies, yeah, them too.  I know a lot of people have more transient relationships, but I've always been really big on hanging onto friends.  Not at any cost, mind you, but I have VERY good friends who'd be there for me no matter what and vice versa.  I couldn't see giving ANY of them up over a party.  Yeah, it's a big, important party, but it's still a party.

    I guess that's why I'm 39 and still have friends from when I was 2.

    I think they just aren't that bright. I didn't see the last one, but it strikes me that they just don't read the rules. They must think they are super smart to come up with the oh-so-novel idea of advertising on message boards. Since, you know, no one else is.

  • There was a vendor-esque post on the bridesmaid gift post. Talks about a spa. The girl has been a member since 05 though, so I didn't flag it.

  • I have a friend who got engaged right before I did and he owns a dry-cleaning business. He knew about theknot through his FI and said something about posting on the boards to ask if anyone wanted to get her dress cleaned at his place. I very quickly talked him out of it :P

    I'm glad he said something rather than just posting it, because the poor guy would've gotten chewed out had he posted anything. He's a good guy, wasn't even thinking of it to make a buck, just sort of an, "If you need a dress cleaned we offer that" sort of PSA. I'm sure there are people who just plain overlook the no-vendor rules, but I think there ARE soem genuine ones out there who just don't realize how heavily patrolled these boards are. I've been on other message boards that are just FULL of spam because nobody regulates it.
