Cheap Rehearsal Dinner Rec's

I am looking for something downtown, not too far from the King William District, and not expensive for our rehearsal dinner. My MOH and I briefly checked out the Cadillac Bar Restaurant, and the staff seems ok, if inadequate. I've never been there otherwise, so I don't know. The party rooms look nice though, and I am wondering if anyone has any experience/advice with this place If you have any recommendations other than Cadillac, please let me know!

I went to a work Christmas Party at Cadillac bar once and it was really nice actually. My only complaint was I think I had to pay for parking. We are doing ours at the Spaghetti Warehouse on E. Houston St. They have been SO great and IMO they are really inexpensive! It's not too close to Southtown, but at least its still downtown. HTH!

I considered Spaghetti Warehouse, but we are having Zio's at the wedding, so I wanted something not Italian. Thanks for the info though!

Have you thought of China Latina? Its down the strees from where First Friday is held. It's really good but I don't remember how much it costs, I don't remember it being very much though

What about Rosario's on South Alamo? Is that too far?Just a tip that we did at a friend's RD: If there are several things on then menu that are pricey, just make your own "menu." Print up the items that you can afford, minus prices onto a cute piece of paper. It looks special and thought out. Not only will you not have to worry about anyone ordering something out of the budget, it will be easier on the guests and waiters will have a much easier - and quicker - time ordering (this is especially good for large parties).

Ditto Rosarios, or try Titos (not sure if they have a room), Blue Star has a loft type room, it's not very big though, Mr. Tim's would probably let you rent it out since it's also not very big, but the food is amazing if you want to go the home cooking route. Their rolls are to die for and they may be byob. Azuca is really good, but could be more than you're looking to spend. You could travel a little farther in to downtown and check out Mexican Manhattan. It's not very far from Cadillac. My friend had her rehearsal there last December.

We had ours at Pico De Gallo, and my ILs were on a TIGHT budget, so we made our own menus and only included stuff that was under $8. The guests didn't know that though, and they still had a ton of options.
