Re: Some extra special crazy to brighten up your day

  • Can we call MUD on an outside article? Really, that chick is delusional...

But I apprecate the big ol' pot of crazy for an afternoon pick-me-up!

  • WOW I feel bad for her husband. Yes I know that is an overdone knot phrase but so true in this case.
  • Good for her husband for figuring it out.  I hope that he's happy with the girl he should have married in the first place.

I hope it's MUD, but that sort of thing does happen.  FI's uncle was head over heels with one girl, but another woman basically told him that if he didn't marry her, she'd kill herself, so now they're married.  They seem happy and stable, but the aunt's kind of a biitch.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • Now, I'm not Christian and don't purport to know everything to know about other religions, but "Good Christian woman" =/= lying, deceitful wench where I come from.  Am I the one who's nuts here?

And Aerin, I feel really bad for your FI's uncle, no matter how stable the relationship seems.  "I will kill myself" is the most manipulative sentence ever uttered, and I hate that the guy fell for it.  I'd have told her to go have fun if that's what she wanted to do.  But I'm cold like that.
  • Holy crazy with a side of bacon!

I'd like to think that people like that don't exist but there are times when I'm amazed by people DH and I are related to as well.

One can only hope that there are enough people who tell that person that what she has done is horrible that she begins to actually get it.

Unfortunately, most people like that don't.  It's so sad.
  • Larissa, I feel bad for him too.  He's such a nice guy, he deserves better than that.  The sad thing is, FI ended up in a similar situation, and decided that he didn't want to end up like his uncle.  The girl did end up killing herself.  This was before I met him, but he still feels guilty about it, even though he feels he made the right decision.

  • wow. I am reading the article but I cannot believe it is real. Frown  I hope the father gets sole custody of the son.

  • Wow.. I really just do not know what to say.  Hopefully her husband will see this letter and use it againist her in the divorce.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

<div>If you have to say "I'm a good Christian woman" you aren't one.  Actually, saying "I'm a good ______ woman" means you aren't one. The actual good ones are too humble to say so.  Just speaking from life experience here.</div>

  • In my perfect world, her DH's chubby friend/one true love is a divorce attorney.

  • At least I am not the only one that wishes the "one true love" is a divorce attorney.
That brand od BSC is very entertaining.

Poor man. Run chap, run far away... and take the kid.

  • Brooke, I tend to agree.

Aerin, I'm glad your FI was bright enough to run away.  I hope he knows that he's not responsible for his ex's death; only she is.  If someone's not stable, she's not stable, and no layperson can really do enough to help.  Chick needed to talk to a professional.
  • I think he knows it on an intellectual level, but that's one of those things that screws you up, you know?  He has a fair amount of baggage from before he met me, I'm trying to encourage him to get into counseling to help him work through all of that.

  • Yeah, that'd be good for him.  It's a lot to live with.
