Let's start the Knot day all over again now that we seem to be functioning properly.

How is everyone doing? Stage, are you feeling any better? Aerin, how's holding down the fort on campus today?

Question: As per the WP Tuesday thread this week, I'll be hosting a "good feelings" thread where we basically send out good vibes and prayers for the various life trials going on lately. Brooke and Banana need it to happen before December. Anyone have things they desperately need right now that should be covered in the thread?

I don't have anything that needs to go into the good feelings thread, but I'll definitely be there to send all of my good feelings to everyone.

I think lalap is in need of some good feelings so they can find an apartment and get their kitties back!

It's not too bad, but I came to work early, since my normal path takes me right past the rally area.  It was pretty quiet, and I didn't get stopped.  Everyone in my group who came in after me had various dustups with security and Secret Service.  Everyone else in my department is either working from home or taking the day off.

It's actually not too bad, though; since we're all sort of stuck in here, we're just sort of hanging out and answering the very few phone calls that are coming in.  Plus, since I came in early, I can go home early.  (Though since I'm probably going to have to take the long way to the shuttle, probably not that much earlier than usual.)

Sweet deal. Obama came to JMU in 2008 right before the election. I got to go. I'm not a supporter, but I figured, it's a presidential candidate. It's important to participate in these things. Especially if he becomes the president.

It would be kind of cool to see the madness in person, but not worth the hassle.  The school of communcation is doing a live stream of it, so we're watching people gather over the internet.

Big screen is probably better. Waiting in line for 4 hours in the cold was not a good time.

I like the idea of a good feelings thread. :-)  I don't have anything I need good vibes for right now (besides actually surviving my first year teaching, but that's an insane ongoing thing!), but I'll be more than happy to offer up some to others!

Kathryn, Obama was on campus for a rally.  I think there were something like 37K people there.

Oh I'm stupid, I completely missed Manwa's mentioning his coming to JMU. That should have tipped me off. Okay, but wow. Would have been absolutely crazy there but that's really something!
