Bridesmaid gifts - looking for opinions

I am looking for some opinions about my idea for gifts for my bridesmaids.   I have a friend whose sister makes clutch purses for a reasonable price (which is important since I’m on a budget and have 7 BMs).  I was thinking of having clutches made for them.  I get to pick out whatever fabric I would like and she’ll make them for me.  I was going to pick fabrics that would coordinate with their dresses (so that they can use them the day of the wedding if they want to), but I want pick fabrics that will also go with other outfits they have to be able to use them later.  Then I want to fill them with things that they will use like lip gloss and other things…we have a few inside jokes between us that I figured I would tap into etc.   This gift won’t work for two of my BMs but I figure that is okay I’ll get something else for them.  I just don’t think they would use a clutch purse so I don’t want to get them something they wouldn’t use.

What do you think?

  • It's fine to get the clutches only for the girls who would use them, and to get something else for the ones who wouldn't.  It shows you put some thought into it and shopped for them and not their title.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • I would only get clutches for them if I KNEW that they would use them. Also, don't make them for the wedding, as it's more of a uniform for them at your wedding. Their gifts should have ZILCH to do with the wedding.

  • I think those sound fine as long as you keep their tastes in mind.

In the future, OP, could you please not altar your font?  It makes your post harder to read.
