Wedding Party

Little Brother

I have a little brother who is going to be 11 at the time on our wedding and i am not sure where to include him. He is slightly to old to be the ring bearer. So we have desided to have him be a junior groomsman...which he is happy about anyway. But i dont know what to do with him when everybody walks in. I want the groomsman and the bridesmaid to walk in together but what does my little brother do..walk by himself??? Will that look weird??

Re: Little Brother

  • It's fine if he walks in by himself.
  • I think it would be fine to walk in by himself.  If he's on the shy side maybe he could walk in with your mom and dad.

  • I like the above ideas. Also, he could strut in with one or two BMs on his arm.

  • You could always have him walk with the flower girl and/or ring bearer too, especially if the other two are littler kids they might feel more comfortable walking with someone else
    - the last thing you want is your flower girl to have a breakdown at the head of the aisle b/c she's scared of all the people staring at her (I've seen it happen)

  • Yeah but i've seen the flower girl do this while being escorted. Tantrums are a risk you run when including children in your wedding. Chances are that the "junior Groomsman" isn't going to want to escort a few kids down the aisle but you could ask him. If they did start throwing a tantrum at the end of the aisle, in front of everyone, he probably wouldn't know what to do anyways.

  • He could also walk your mother in, especially if your father will be walking with you.
