  • How often do you watch the news?
Every day.  I try to catch the evening news, but if not, I watch the 10 p.m. news.

Are you planning to shop on Black Friday? Cyber Monday?
Black Friday, yes!  I loooooove Black Friday shopping.  It's also my b-day this year!

    Have you started xmas shopping?
Yes.  I started the first week in November.  I've been ordering one gift a week.

Do you donate time or money to charity?
I donate to the United Way every year, and I really want to get more involved with volunteering.  I volunteered at a soup kitchen earlier this year, and it was really a great experience.

How often do you watch the news?
Evening news every night.  I check news site online throughout the day if I'm near a computer and I make sure to watch Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert every night.  I avoid cable "news" like the plague.

Are you planning to shop on Black Friday? Cyber Monday?
    Hell. No.

    Have you started xmas shopping?
Not yet.  Still trying to think of what to get people.  I do know what I'm getting my secret santa draw though.

Do you donate time or money to charity?
When I have it, I donate money.

  • How often do you watch the news? Not often because it is usually incorrect or one-sided. I've been watching it more lately because DH likes to know whats going on. His sgt likes the guys to stay up with current events around the county.

Are you planning on shopping black Friday or Cyper Monday? not even a little

Have you started Xmas shopping? No, usually I have it done by now or mostly done but between wedding, honeymoon, mom having surgery and me having to take care of her and my grandmother I haven't really had time. I haven't even been on the knot very much :(

Do you donate time or money to charity? Money but I feel guilty because I want to donate time...I just don't have a lot of time right now. I would love to work full-time for a charity though! Maybe one day :)
    Anniversary
  • How often do you watch the news? Almost every night. I don't get home in time for the evening news so I watch the late news.

Are you planning to shop on Black Friday? Cyber Monday? Nope. I've had my Christmas shopping done for a week now. I am on cloud nine.

Have you started xmas shopping? I'm done! Wohoo! Well..."done". I'm sure I'll think of something else I need to pick up closer to Christmas, but for now, I remain blissfully unaware.

Do you donate time or money to charity? Both.

How often do you watch the news?
    Daily

Are you planning to shop on Black Friday? Cyber Monday?
No and No. I did Black Friday once and I might attempt it again, but it's not in the cards this year.

    Have you started xmas shopping?
Not yet, probably can't put it off too much longer though.

Do you donate time or money to charity?
Both, I do the Tour de Cure bike ride for diabetes, the Polar Plunge for the special Olympics and the Susan G. Komen walk for breast cancer. Also I host a chinese auction at my work every year for a charity that the employees pick.
  • How often do you watch the news? Most weekday mornings

Are you planning to shop on Black Friday? Cyber Monday? Nope. If I were in the US I probably would though - definitely at least Cyber Monday since we want to get a new computer.

Have you started xmas shopping? No

Do you donate time or money to charity? I donate every month to the firefighters. All firefighters in Chile are volunteer, and they have to either pay for things (like their fire gear) themselves or raise money to pay for it - it's incredible to me. I would like to do more, however. I used to volunteer with an organization that helped stray dogs here, but it closed.
  • How often do you watch the news? Once in a while.  I get most of my information from news sources on the internet.

Are you planning to shop on Black Friday? Cyber Monday? No.  Maybe.

Have you started xmas shopping? Nope.  *sigh*

Do you donate time or money to charity? Both.  I work for a church so a lot of my volunteering is through there.

  • How often do you watch the news?  Daily.  Usually catch the news as I'm going to bed.  I also read a lot online and get the print newspaper a few days a week.
Are you planning to shop on Black Friday? Cyber Monday?  I want to.  My wedding's the day after so I don't know the odds.  I've never done Cyber Monday.  Black Friday is pure entertainment for me.  There's something crazy (awesome) about a mall being packed at 4 am.  I usually don't even buy much, I just like to watch the crowds.
Have you started xmas shopping?  Bought my dad a pink panther t-shirt a few weeks ago.
Do you donate time or money to charity?  Often enough.  I'll send small donations to anything related to veterans, muscular dystrophy, autism, diabetes, breast cancer.  Last year I bought some presents from the American Diabetes store.  I haven't had time to volunteer lately, but do when I can.
  • How often do you watch the news? 3-4 times a week if I'm around when FI is watching

Are you planning to shop on Black Friday? Cyber Monday? nope

Have you started xmas shopping? no

Do you donate time or money to charity? now money.  When I was in college and had no money, I donated time.

How often do you watch the news?
I don't go out of my way on that. Most of my news comes from either Howard Stern or Comedy Central ... to be honest, while it's still biased, I at least get a laugh out of it-as opposed to regular news where it's biased and I just end up getting ticked off.

Are you planning to shop on Black Friday? Cyber Monday?
BF: Hell to the No! I went to the mall once on Black Friday, and it was actually at the end of the day (DH was working at Radio Shack at the time, and that day he had to work from 4am to 10pm, so I went to bring him dinner). I didn't even shop and it was still an absolute nightmare.

CM: I have no idea what that is. Anybody care to fill me in?

    Have you started xmas shopping?
Nope. I always wait until after Thanksgiving, unless I happen to stumble upon "the most perfect gift everrrrrrrr" for somebody beforehand.

Do you donate time or money to charity?
Money (When I have some to spare), yes. Time, not so much.

  • How often do you watch the news?  Pretty much never.  I get the highlights from the Soup and InfoMania, and most of my news comes from online sources.

Are you planning to shop on Black Friday? Cyber Monday?  No way.  I did Black Friday at Wal-Mart last year, and it was terrifying.  Totally worth it for the deal we got on our PS3, but never again.

Have you started xmas shopping?  Yup!  We're giving wedding albums to everyone (big fancy ones for the parents and little mini ones for our attendants), and I'm sending everyone cookies.  (Which reminds me, I need to bake up a few more batches this weekend.)  The only real gifts I need to buy are for our SS here and the one for my family.

Do you donate time or money to charity?  Yay, it's pimping time!

My favorite charity is Child's Play.  Started as a way to prove that gamers aren't just a bunch of self-absorbed, psychotic assholes, it's raised over $7M for children's hospitals in North America since 2003.  Even when I was a broke college student, I've given every year during the holidays (which is mainly when it operates).  I like buying books off their wishlists that I loved when I was a kid.

My favorite charitable event all year is Desert Bus for Hope, which starts tonight!  (So thanks for the reminder, Stina, I almost missed it!)  Check it out here: http://desertbus.org Basically the more money you donate, the longer they have to play Desert Bus, also known as the most horribly boring game ever developed.  it's all kinds of awesome, all proceeds go to Child's Play.

I just made my donation to the Office of Letters and Light, which runs NaNoWriMo and all sorts of awesome writing and literacy advocacy programs.  And I donated my wedding gown to Brides Against Breast Cancer.  I want to say there are others, but those are the main ones I can think of.

This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • How often do you watch the news? Every day, sometime several times I day. I like to be informed.

Are you planning to shop on Black Friday? No Cyber Monday? No

Have you started xmas shopping? Yes, and I'm actually already done! I've never been this early before but I refuse to be a part of the rush this year.

Do you donate time or money to charity? No, but I try to contribute to things like our county's Christmas Mother program. So I'll buy a toy or some winter clothes that will go to a child in need.

  • How often do you watch the news?  Not often at all, I mostly read it online.

Are you planning to shop on Black Friday? Cyber Monday?  Black Friday - depends on if I can get anyone to go with me.  Cyber Monday - I didn't even know that existed, but I suspect it'd be harder for a Canadian to take advantage of those sales...

Have you started xmas shopping?  Not yet.

Do you donate time or money to charity?  Both.

  • How often do you watch the news? Usually every day at noon, if I happen to be home
Are you planning to shop on Black Friday? Cyber Monday? I don't know...maybe, but not highly likely. FI will have to work so it's not like I'd be getting anywhere early.
Have you started xmas shopping? Yes, earlier this week...put some of the kids' stuff on layaway :)
Do you donate time or money to charity? When I have time or money, yes, and if the charity is one that I support... :)
  • How often do you watch the news?
I rarely watch, but I read it daily online.

Are you planning to shop on Black Friday? Cyber Monday?
I will be working-- gag. I work in a clothing store in an outlet mall and will be working from 9pm Thanksgiving Day (I am so bitter about this) until 7am Black Friday... Then going to a wedding for the rest of the afternoon/evening. No shopping here.

    Have you started xmas shopping?
Yeah, months ago. Money is tight with wedding/moving/crappy job right now, so we've been doing a little at a time.

Do you donate time or money to charity?
Both. Several military charities (Operation Shoebox, Soldiers Angels, etc) as well as Light the Night, Victory Junction Gang, and some others. Always donate to Goodwill, and to the local Foodbank-- I try to earn enough points at the grocery store to donate a free turkey dinner with all the fixin's to someone. I didn't make it this year, but next I hope to get in touch with the local Veteran's assistance program and see if I can donate it specifically to a veteran/family in need instead of just bringing it to a shelter.
