Eeeenteresting...

I was browsing through TV Tropes to kill the last few minutes of my work day, and I came across this page:

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MyOwnPrivateIDo

I found it interesting that the article says that the couple considers their private wedding to be the "real" one and the PPD just for show, when in my experience here, couples who do this consider the fake one to be "real" and the real one to be just a formality.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

[QUOTE]Anyone who ever saw the wedding episodes of Mad About You and The Office already knew that was true :) That's why DH and I let other people plan the wedding: it was for them, not for us. Had it been completely up to us, we would have eloped immediately.

I loved that episode of Mad About You, it really summed up how we kind of felt about the whole thing. Thus, picking the venue that did most of the work for us.
